Hey guys! Just wanted to let ya'll know that I'm still alive and kickin'...just that the internet's not been for the past week. (We hope to have that remedied within the next couple weeks...)
Anyway, thought I'd update you on SweetPea and various things:
- SweetPea's gaining weight. We'd noticed on the second or third night we had her that you could feel her spine and ribs, so I now give her two 1T servings of oats daily, and she seems to be doing a great job of gaining weight now. Spine not as noticable.
- Her nervousness has died down quite a lot. I'm so proud of her...she's adjusting SO well to our household. I have a theory that the amount of noise in our house (which isn't insane, just that between the AC and Em, our house isn't completely quiet, except unless we're asleep) is actually good for our buns. They seem to be able to handle a lot more with having the white noise of the AC and the various sounds.
- We successfully sexed her I think it was last night. She is definitely a girl. She was quite freaked out in the whole process, but it was worth it, and she calmed down quite a bit after just an hour. I was originally worried that she would be all nervous again, but she calmed down rather nicely.
- Flower had some issues with things for a bit there, and I started to get nervous, but she's doing great now. She was mostly upset because SweetPea's hutch blocks me form being able to see her as much as I used to (it's temporary, don't worry). She started refusing to come up to see me, and it went on for about three days. Really tore me up...and I cried a lot...she wouldn't even come to the bottom door...and would honk every time I tried. A couple nights ago, though, I sat down and just talked to her for quite a while and explained yet again that she was still my baby, and still had a huge part of my heart...and that nothing had changed. Something in it must have gotten through to her, because she's been back to her normal self since. I cried my eyes out the first time she came back up at the sound of my nearing her cage, though, I have to admit. I love her so much. As much as I hate to admit it, she is indeed my heart bunny. So, she's good now, and I worked on getting all the fur out that hadn't been shed in petting over that three day period...and she's back to her happy-go-lucky, cuddly self.
- Maisie and Trixie are absolutely fine. Maisie's used to new additions and still really happy at my upgrading her litterbox to the same size has her noticably larger sisters. She really doesn't need such a huge box, but boy does she get a kick out of looking like she's SWIMMING in the hay!! Trixie's her usual happy self.
- Our 4Runner has officially been named Haley, though I think we're spelling it Hailie, or some such. It's such a wonderful vehicle! Oh, and the loan was completely approved...we received the first monthly bill a few days ago.
- As far as us humans, we're doing just fine. Things are a tad slim right now financially, but we're continuing our search for a house, and continuing on with our hopes and dreams.
We are currently able to come over to a friend's place (where I am right now) to sign in and check on things, so I can't promise to be able to answer anybody tomorrow, or anything...but...
