It was a long wait to get an English lop, but hefinally arrived last evening (courtesy Air Canada). His official(pedigreed) name is Cletus, but I've officially renamed him Raphael. Idecided to name him in honor of the Archangel of healing...long storyinvolved, but to shorten it, I went through a rather rough time a whileback with illness, and the reason I decided to have rabbits again afterso many years was to help in the healing process.

So, here he is, my newest furred friend, 5-month-old Raph:

Posing on my bed....

In his cage...it's a temporary home till I get his outdoor cagebuilt...though it will also serve him on the days when it's toohot/cold to be outside (oh, and there is a mat that goes on the bottom;I had taken it out to clean as Raph christened it...

My first attempt at a pic of him on my bed...he was too interested in exploring and couldn't sit still...

The run I built for him in my yard (he seems to love it!)...

He hasn't been here a full day yet, but so far he has decided that heloves my bedroom. The cage I have for him is in there, and even tho hehas full roam of the house, that's where he goes whenever he's out. Mydog, who normally would hunt a wild rabbit, loves him! She has givenhim kisses and lets Raph hop up to her while she's stretched out on thefloor, and she doesn't even bother with him (mind you, I had a rabbit afew years ago and she was friends with him as well). They seem to havebonded very quickly. Raphie is a beautiful big baby...he absolutelyloves to have his nose scratched, and whenever I go near him he pusheshis nose under my hand. He's got a big appetite (surprising for goingthrough so much just yesterday, being shipped here through an airline),and is absolutely adorable. And this morning he was binkying!! Wow...Ithought it would take him a few days to adapt, but this little guy hasmoved right in.

I think I'm in love...:inlove:

Freddy'smom, he does trip over his ears sometimes! He will go to hopaway and find that his big feet are holding his ears back! LOL...and Ihave to take wipes and clean the ends of them too. (They're greatdustcatchers...:p)

Oh guys, he sure is a cutie! I've never met abunny so friendly and laid-back as this one. Right now he's stretchedout in his cage, taking in the air from the fan.

An English Lop is my husband's dream rabbit.
Tina, I have wanted an Elop ever since I was in my teens (andI'm in my 40s now!). So I know how your husband feels about them. Raphreally was worth the wait. I swear, it's almost like having a puppy!(Well, a puppy that binkies...;))

I'll post more pics of him when I get the chance (having problems withthe camera right now; I tend to be a bit electronics-challenged attimes...)

Di
