Squidz took these from the window of the mobile vet clinic truck..

These are on the way to the Bolivar Penisula.. which is down the road from Galveston..

This is the aftermath from the 18 foot storm surge, and this is over 2 miles from the shore..

This is a barge in the middle of the road..

At this point you have to go into the oncoming traffic lane to get by.. they made it 2 lane..

Prior to the storm, they had a HUGE cattle drive out of the area.. for those owners/ranches that gave a dang.. some didn't.. and there is literally hundreds of cow bodies strewn all about the road..the brown lump next to the road is a calf..the gators are now feasting on them.. it's like when you drive up on them, there can be so many on a body, it's like rats on cheese.. and they don't scatter...

In case your wondering... the plan is to dig a huge lake sized hole.. bulldoze the bodies in, burn them, then cover up the area to control the spread of disease...

This use to be a pasture..

More storm surge..2 miles from the coast.. there's a streetlight from who knows where (there's no lighted intersections for over 10 miles either direction from here)and a pleasure boat in the seaweed..

Holy poo!

That's so sad about those cows. I can't judge because I wasn't there, but obviously some people were able to drive their cows out of harms way. What a horrible death.:(

And the barge... wow.

Thinking of you guys every day. I have co-workers in Houston and the photo's they sent were heartbreaking too... :(

Regarding the cows: there is no accounting for human stuipidity...

Praying that things start getting back to "normal" as soon as possible. Hoping you are all well.

Why some people didn't send their cattle up north..... what idiots! I hope they don't get paid insurance for it! that's just wrong!

Do you normally have gaters there?

Wow that's awful about all those cows. Shame their owners didn't move them....:(

How did Blake manage to do that!?! lol.

That barge is the road is aboslutely stunning! 2 miles from shore and there it sits! Wow.

How very surreal seeing a barge in the middle of the road, so far inland!

It's so sad about all the cattle. I hope they can clean up quickly - the last thing you want is a big population of gators hanging around.

Take care.

That Pasture lake was always a Pasture.. now it's a lake..

This IS gator country.. we just don't usually see em this.. brazen..

Blake was talkin on his celly, I was sitting on the porch takin a break, and then all I see is the trailer up in the air, and wheels spinning.. and somewhere out of eyesight, from the direction of the ditch I hear...* Can't a man get a little help here?*

Blake's a nutter..lol

Really? I always associated gaters with Florida....

I'm not a well traveled woman..... Texas = cows, snakes and steaks...... :p

I'm glad that you and yours are all right, it's a shame about the cattle.

And the gators  I was looking at pics on ABC news and they had a pic of a gator in the middle of the road outside of Houston.
