I thought I had my place pretty well bunny proofed until Miss Penny proved me wrong yesterday. I let her out for 10 minutes unsupervised in the rabbit room. I left to get some food, and when I came back, little miss innocent was sitting back in her litterbox, eating.

Over by the electrical wires though, I saw that she managed to chew through the split tubing wire protectors in a few places, and worse, she used her paws to take the wires out from the end of the protector. I thought I tucked it in pretty good and hid the end of the tubing behind the bookcase, but she pulled it out from behind the bookcase, and separated the entire protector from the wires inside. Then she chewed the wires. These *are* live wires, so I am really lucky she didn't chew through it. The metal is exposed a tiny bit but she is ok.

What I would highly recommend if anyone is going to use this split tubing cord protector, is use a cable zip tie and tie one around each end and in the middle. That way, diligent bunnies can't paw the wires out of the ends of the tubing so the wires expose at the split. Some of the cord protectors are sold with a plastic tie that locks it in place, but I have bought a lot of protectors that don't come with anything. A simple cable zip tie from home depot will do the trick nicely.

When one danger is squashed, another one is looming. So true, so true.
