I went to the flea market yesterday and brought some "treasures" home.

I bypassed the cocker spaniel puppies, the rabbits, the rat terriersand chihuahua/pom mixes...

I found an outdated but awesome tracking book. I've raised four pups that have become trackers and have 246 hours of tracking behind me now and am looking for another hopeful...

I bought a lot of produce and some plants, a small wire dog kennel (and may go back for another) a T-Shirt and a neat hand carved turtle that reminds me of the one I bought on the Spanish Staircase in Italy...

In one setup I found a few DVDs (Finding Nemo & Shark Zone) and the coolest thing ever -

A boot jack (I think). It's a lightweight metal beetle of sorts that has some wideset pincers. I had no clue what it was so the lady had to tell me, but when you have boots on you put your heel in the pincers and step on the back and you can lift your foot out of your boot with ease. Well ok, but I think it'll be awesome looking in my aloe vera plants.

That boot jack sound's interesting....i have never heard of anything like it before....you must post a picture of it :)

Is it an old one? The boot jack , I mean? They are very useful for getting off tall riding boots or mucky gardening boots. Congratulations on your neat buys!

Here is an antique 'naughty Nellie' boot jack. They sell quite well at auctions.

and a few beetles

seniorcats you found my beetle! Thats it exactly, but mine isn't painted.

I don't think it is old enough to be an antique but then I've never seen the likes of it before. Once my camera batteries have a chance to recharge I'll take pictures and post them.

The boot jacks are interesting - the Nellie, really, and once I have time I'd like to look into finding some info/designs and see if they would be something I'd possibly collect.

Silly but unique!
