Someone here mentioned planting wheat grass forHarper to chew on, as that is what's in those Grazin' Greens cups youbuy at the pet store. I looked the other day and, sure enough, theingredient was wheat grass. I'd like to buy a little planter and planthim some myself, so that I can put it in his cage, and outside wheneverhe's on the deck playing. I looked at Lowe's, and they sell MiracleGrow Organic potting soil for vegetables. Would this be a safe option?I know it can't have those white beads in them, forgot what they'recalled...

Anyways, I can't find anywhere that sells a packet of wheat grass seeds. Anyone know of anywhere I can get it?

Also, is it safe for him to have daily, like his hay? And what if he eats some of the dirt too, is that cool?

Thanks!

I've seen packets of wheat grass sold as catgrass at grocery stores. I don't know about the soil- checkthe ingredients. Organic doesn't always mean safe.If possible, it might be better to use normal dirt.

Eeek! You can't use those white bead things? :shock:I use them every time for soil when I give Pepsi oat grass! I guess she's never been rerally interested in the dirt.. but I'll have to change that :?.

I'm not sure about soil, but I think you can look on the back to see if "Keep away from children and pets" (it sometimes has this). Hmm. Maybe ask at Lowes? They might be able to tell you.

When I dogrow the oat grass, the first day it's grown to my liking, I give it to her then wait until it grows back (usually 3-4 days). I once was very nifty and had two plants growing at a time, and she had it almost every day so that was good :).

As far asI know, as long as he's eating all his other regular stuff and his poops are normal, it's fine. If I have it growing, I give it to Pepsi very regularly without a problem. It's good for their teeth and a good source of water and fiber :D.
