i think we are pregnant

how do i tell if my bun is pregnant? i saw some fur in the cage and i felt her belly and i felt some bumps by her ribs??:shock:

It sounds as though she is pregnant. When was the last time she was with a buck

she got our her cage and into my room with my buck and that was a couple of weeks ago. would the babies be around her ribs

It's likely she's pregnant. But how many "babies" do you feel and where? You could be feeling her kidneys.

It's likely you're feeling her kidneys. Try to find a diagram of rabbit anatomy and see if that's where you're feeling.

The kidneys are protected by the ribcage andlocated up under the spine - you have to palpate from underneath therabbit to reach up and feel the kidneys (which are often surrounded byfat). In stages of advanced pregnancy, the kits may be feltas hard lumps on the abdomen.

If she was exposed to the buck 2 weeks ago (14 days), you would only beable to feel the kits by carefully palpating the abdomen. At14 days, the kits are the approx. size and consistancy of a grape (thekits are surrounded in amniotic fluid).
