:( I am getting bites that look like mosquito bites all over my arms and chest. I can not really see anything to bad on Harley except for a couple of little white spots on his fur on the back of his neck. He is only 7 weeks old and very little. Is there anything I can safely treat him with or bath him in?? Have just paid off a $800 vet bill from Benjamin, so would like to see what I can do without taking him all the way to Winfield about 1 hour away, until at least Friday.

That sounds like fleas to me. Try holding him over a plain white piece of paper. Fluff his fur, particularly at the neck. If little black spots fall onto the paper drip just a wee bit of water on them. If they run red you know he has fleas.

Poor Harley, that really sucks. His breeder doesn't sound like a very responsible person. Hopefully you can get the little man all fixed up.

no black spots or flea dirt. I emailed his breeder yesterday and she was super affended that I would even consider that he had mites. I had asked her to check the rest of the litter and she acted like I had asked her to cut her left arm off. What is with that. I only shared my concerns because she has 6 others babies going to new homes this week. I really need to know if Revolution is safe for young rabbits.

Sounds like mites, fur mites. I think that revolution is safe for young bunnies, but I am not quite sure. You did the right thing by talking with the breeder you got your rabbit from.

I hope Harley feels better soon.

I used just a little of the flea/mite stuff I had for rabbits. About 1/10 the regular dose on his back. Neither vet would reply about revolution, but the scrapings I dropped off just showed dandruff. So far I am not getting anymore bites and he is not showing any ill effects. In fact he seems happier, eating like a little piggy. Added 1 teaspoon of steel cut oats to his pellets and he digs around until he gets it all.

It is called Anti-Parasite Spot On for rabbits, guinea-pigs, ferrets and rats only. Effective against lice, mange mites, others mites and roundworms for up to 4 weeks. It is by Beaphar and contains invermectin.
