so the company that makes Snicker's favorite treats discontinued her treats. i got her these and she LOVED them. you just had to shake the bag and say "you want a cookie?" and she would race over :)

th

she never got a whole one, just a half or third. but now i can get them anywhere and have to find a new crunchy treat :( i havent really got any thing but the treat above. i did try out the purina apple snacks, which she did like but the shape was hard to bite into and she did always want them like the other treats

what is your rabbits favorite crunchy treat? (post a pic if you can!)

:eats:

I don't buy any pet store packaged treats like that. Ironically, even though they are marketed for rabbits, a lot of them are unhealthy for them :( I'm not sure what the ingredients of those pretzel sticks are but most "grain" based foods (crackers, breads etc) are not the best for rabbits.

My bun's favorite snacks are fruits. But they only get a tiny amount. Banana is their most favorite ever!! They also love blueberries and grapes.

Their everyday snack is their veggies/herbs. They (finally) like parsley and cilantro, they love romaine, oak leaf lettuces, kale, bok choy. They get just as excited for their salads as the other treats and I just feel like it's better for them.

The only treats I've been giving my pair are from Oxbow. We actually have quite a variety on hand (I get a vet student discount and when they're only $3 a bag, I can't resist stocking up!)

I only use small treats for training & before bedtime treat. My bunnies love papaya & cranberries as their favorite treats. I don't buy the pet store bunny treats, they are simply too expensive for a little of nothing, just my opinion. I get a much better buy with unsulfured fruits from either the health food store or bird store. Thanks for asking, I'll be looking for others replies to give me some good ideas for my buns as well!

Snickers LOVES banana also, but i read that it can get 'stuck' in their teeth and it just sits there if you feed it too often. she also gets cheerios, and the natural oats occasionally. i have tired the timothy hay cubes which she did not touch (but my friends horses loved them!) i would like to rind another crunchy treat for her back teeth, seeming that she keeps her front ones down from chewing apple branches and cardboard boxes.
