Most of you may have already read that for the past few weeks we've been planning the Baby Shower for my brother and his fiance. My mom was really stressed during that time so today she had to go visit her friend in the hospital and I think it's the best time I could use to make her dinner, Here's what I want to make...

Rice mixed with A La King gravy sauce and little peices of broccoli.

And.

Oven Baked Steak cooked with mushrooms and onions.

One problem.. How long does steak go in the oven for. ?

Its one big0.850 KG (30 ounces) steak that I will cut in two peices.

Can anyone help mee ?

I'd say 45min-1hr and just see if the insides red. If so just leave it on for a bit longer.

If you like your meat rare to medium-rare, I think this would be too long. Start testing it with little knife cuts in the middle after about 30 minutes. Nothing is worse than an over-cooked steak!

It sounds like a lovely dinner!

I didn't even know you could bake a steak :huh. Here we always cook steak in the frying pan.

I haven't had steak for soo looong, I miss it :cry4:.

So does it end up tasting more like roast beef? Steak, as I've had it, can be fried, stewed, barbequed, put in a casserole, in a pie, cut up for a stir-fry, but never baked!

I don't eat meat but I often cook it for my other half, so I might try baking it one day. Thanks for the recipe.

Ugh! The inside NEEDS to be red/pink! Don't ruin the steak by overcooking (like my boyfriend and his whole family does)! :tears2:

goood
it sounded well nice i might have to get my mum to try something similar
but not the mushroom one because i HATE them :)
