My bun Rémy is getting neutered October 31st. I'm really nervous about it. I know it's the right thing but part of me thinks it may be cruel? I'm also nervous his personality and quirks are going to change. I'm going to neuter him but I need a convincing pep talk and stories to help calm the anxious thoughts! Thanks all!

All my boys have been neutered. And my girl (so 5 in total) And not one of them has ever lost any of their weird quirky ways. I did manage to stop their urge to spray pee on the walls but other than that they all stayed the way they were.
People often think the phrase 'it calms them down' means it makes them less fun and boisterous, but actually it means that they are less anxious and stressed. They dont have an insatiable urge to go find a mate, to breed, to fight for his territory.
They also generally seem to be nicer pets afterwards.
I am on my 4th boy (3rd neuter-one was neutered before I got him)
My 2nd neuter is a total fire cracker of a bun. He was a pee sprayer, he was a humper, he was bouncing off the walls - but he was also anxious all the time, always searching , always attempting to "woo" me , then being frustrated that I didnt understand what he wanted.
He is now a dote of a rabbit, he can sit up next to me and relax, he enjoys cuddles (without the urge to hump me) and I dont have to worry about cancer related issues, and I will be able to start looking for a companion for him
But he still bounces off the walls! SO much personality got squished into him..it comes out as energy!
Honestly neutering is not even a question for me anymore seeing how antsy they can get as they mature, it makes for much happier pets long term
