Sent my usual plea to a Craigslist poster the other day...somebody posting the usual 'don't have time, bunny will be happier in a new home' spiel..

Bunnies don’t need much time at all if you just get him a little friend and make an NIC (Neat Idea Cubes) cage with a couple of levels for exercise.
(I can even get somebody to make one for you if you like). It will probably take up less space than the cage you have now.
[Rescuing Moose is awesome, but giving him away will also bump one more home out of the running to foster or adopt somebunny else, and the rescues and shelters are so overrun, somewhere down the chain, another bunny who could have used the space will be euthanized. Is there any way at all you can do this?

And a got a reply back that basically said they agreed thatthe 'bun in the shelter' would ultimately be paying for their decision, and they would be keeping him with the family!

sas :bunnydance:

YAYY!! I do that, too...email the person posting the ad, and RARELY get a reply back, other than the occassional "Sorry...the bun's already been rehomed".

Happy to see that it goes through sometimes!! :D

Yay! Good work!

I had some good luck last night when I was searching Craigslist and emailing people and came upon one located in Willis, MI (which is where Great Lakes Rabbit Sanctuary is located) posted by a woman saying her son and his gf had adopted a bunny and could no longer keep it so she was looking to rehome the bun ASAP. I emailed her informing her of how rescues have a policy that the adoptermust return the rabbit to the rescue if things dont work out.So the buns are going back- where they will have awesome care and attention until they can be adopted out to their forever home.

:)I wish more people would check their local craigslists and classifieds for ways to help people, instead of just flagging everything..
