I just wanted to share this..

so i am a total dork but...:whistling

I just thought i would share this with you guys. I am extremely proud of my big sister. She is two years older than me. She currently goes to Michigan State University, and is in the prestigous Spartan Marching Band. this is her second year. She is a Big Ten Flag. (not a color guard! they don't twirl the flags!)

in the big ten room (shhh i didn't show you guys this...)

they are the coolest section! they are the 'elete' marchers of the band. not only do they march, but they do something called 'prancing' here is a video. this is from last year, my sister is Illinois (orange and blue). (oh and she didn't mess up, she started at the wrong time!)

I guess i am REALLY excited. i sent in my applictaion to MSU last week, and i REALLY want to be in the band as a Big Ten!!

Zoology with an emphasis in zoos and aquariums.

my DREAM job is to be a marine mammal trainer, particularily with beluga whales.

If not that, then i would like to work at a zoo.

LOL! your universities don't have marching bands?--oh wait, football isn't that popular there is it? marching bands and football go hand and hand. as for the flags, there is only two or three schools in their confrence who do it. its a tradition at MSU

Our universities are not as big as the ones in the states. Football, hockey, soccer, basketball, volleyball and suchare many sports that occur during the school term. There are no marching bands at the university,at most there might be a cheerleading squad.

We do have drum and bugle marching bands. Those are mostly clubs that tour and do competitions and shows.

Considering there is usually at least a foot of snow on the ground up here before Halloween, I don't think anyone would be willing to march about. Valves would freeze, fingers turn blue...
Sorels (big skidoo-ish winter boots) would look really tacky on the parade ground, I'm sure...
