Today my dad had to go a different route to work as he had to collect a cheque (he won £5000 in the lottery!) and when he was on a really busy road her spotted a little black animal. He wasn't sure if it was a kitten or a baby rabbit, but he turned back and got out and got it. There were big lorries all over the place - it's a wonder it wasn't killed.

We think someone must have dumped it there. :( There was probably a whole litter of them, but he couldn't find anymore, probably too late. :(:(

Anyways, he brought it home (I was at work at the time so I didn't know all of this until 2 hours ago) and they took it to the vet. Vet says he (is a he!) and is approx 4-6 weeks old, but should be ok away from mum. He gave him some jabs etc and a thorough check-up, and he is fine. :D

I'll get some pictures up tomorrow, you will die he is adorable! :biggrin2:

Pictures please <3

Such a nice thing your dad did.

My dad would never do something like that. Not even think twice about it.

Yeah Ali, I've told him! :biggrin2:

Thanks Silvie!:D So far, everyone except me wants to name him Cuddles...its so not happening.

Hehe Rosie, I'll have some pictures by tomorrow, he has a ut on his face, but he's still adorable! And he can meow so loud for something so small! :p

Montanna, my dad isn't really an animal person either, but we used to have a little black kitty, Topsy, who we lost last year and he loved her, I think this one reminds him of her. ;)

Hehe!!! I know what you mean...those itty bitty kitties really can push out quite a LOUD tune, can't they? Hehe...love it...you should get a video of that meowing...I'm always happy to hear a kitten MEOOWWRRR, hehe!!

Love and hugs to you!

Awwww!

I'm so happy your father went back for him. ANd whoa, no wasted time in getting to the vet huh? That's so awesome. I agree about not naming him Cuddles... There are too many :pI can't wait for the pics :biggrin2:

yay well done your dad!!! -- I have a black boy named Charlie and my friend has his brother called Bertie and my other friend has a black boy called Stitch. I nearly called Charlie Teddy because when he was little he was so fuzzy he was like a walking teddy bear; he still is a little bit. I ADORE Charlie and he comes everywhere with me. Black cats are the hardest to home and re-home so if anyone is ever looking in a shelter for a cat, please take a black one because they will be there the longest.

We had the best black cat in the world named Wizard and we called him Wiz or Wizzy. I miss him so much! He was big and old when I lost him.

Woohoo for black kittens! I am fostering 3 black and 2 black & white kittens here at the mo, they are almost 3 weeks old.

Can't wait to see some pics :biggrin2:.

Awwww.... yeah for kittens! We've been hand raising an orphaned kitten since she was a day old. Ember will be 6 weeks old tomorrow. :D

We just got a phone call from one of my parent's friend who had seen Embera whileback. She called pleading for us to take a3 week old kitten whosemother justup and left for a day or so now. Tonight the temperatures are to get down to around freezing and the lady's husband won't let her have a cat in the house. So the decision is in my mother's hands as to take in this 3 week old kitten or not. Dad has agreed to let us have the chance of having 4 inside cats.

Best of Luck with the new kitten! They are a lot of hard work but VERY rewarding!
