WOOO!

My step mom, her friend, my dad, ryan and I, dad and kelly's other friend couple, and their son all went down to Phoenix. The guy's went to the cigar outlet, while us girls shopped at David's Bridal.

I got a "bridal consultant" who was terrible. She kept getting me $500+ WHITE WEDDING dresses when I specifically told her I was looking for more like a semi poofy COLORED PROM dress UNDER $200. Our wedding is going to be on the lake in mid-spring. I didn't want a white wedding dress, I never have. I also told her that our wedding wasn't fancy, at all, and wanted something fun and simple. She was a total downer and I wanted to punch her in the face the whole time :nasty:.

The girl fectched me dresses for 2 hours. I started to get really irritated and on the verge of tears. When she brought me out a $600 wedding dress that was massively poofy and had an extremely long train....I decided enough was enough. My step mom and her friend, Angie, sensed it and went off and searched for dressed that they thought I would like. I am glad they did, because I was ready to put my clothes back on and go search myself. I was hoping I didn't have to be one of those angry piss*ed off brides at the bridal store....haha!

Angie came strolling up with a dress that I immediately fell in love with. It is gorgeous! It is just below the knee in length, semi poofy, turqouise & minty green, sparkly, and has beading. I am totally in love with it and knew it was the perfect one when I tried it on because it fit perfectly and I felt wonderful in it.

The "bridal consultant" kept talking about vails, when again, I specifically told her NO VAILS....THEY AREN'T FOR ME! I decided that I wanted a tiarra, so out came the nice but obviously "cheap" tiarra for $100. Ugh, lol! My dress was only $170...did she think I was going to buy a $100 head piece that I wouldn't wear all night?

I got dressed and came out to get ready to go pay for my dress, when I realised my wallet was missing and every one was out of sight. Angie stole my wallet while Kelly (my step mom) paid for my dress. It was so nice of her to do...I wasn't expecting it!

I wish I had a picture of my dress to show you guys! I have the picture on my phone, but I don't have a way to get it onto my computer. My dress is at Dad & Kelly's house, so we don't have a crazy kitty *cough*TIBI*cough* who will find a way to drag it through the house (he LOVES fabric and treats it like a baby, he is odd).

You can't text the photo can you? If you text it to an email address you can then copy it and put it on the forum.

Amy, I'm not the least bit surprised the woman was befuzzled by something not mainstream ;) I think all that white must bleach the brain after awhile:D

SO !!! PICS!!!!

Does the dress show off your tattoo?

(I'm so excited for ya!.. Remember, put the wedding rings on the bunny ears :) )

can you blue tooth it to your computer/laptop? if your phone and computer/laptop has blue tooth you can send it.

Very cool! I wanna see it too.

I'm not very traditional myself, besides white wasn't always what brides wore, it's more of a recent thing. Lower/middle class people would just wear their sunday best!

My mum got remarried a few years ago and wore jeans and a pretty pink top. The first time she got married she was 17 and had the ugliest white dress and swore to never wear white to a wedding again. haha.

I think I'd wear purple or blue if I was to get married.

What is Ryan going to wear?

I wore white for my wedding, but it was just a simple cotton sundress. Square neck with wide straps, high waist, length just below the knee. We got married on a beach, and I really didn't want something super-fancy that I would worry about getting dirty. I got it on clearance at the mall for $15!!! (I actually paid the full $70, but then it went on clearance 2 weeks later, still had my size, and the store had a 60-day return policy. I just bought a new one on clearance, and returned the full-priced one.)

I also just got flip-flops (with white straps), those cost me twice what the dress cost!

Can't wait to see a picture of your dress!

I love hearing what every one else wore. It just goes to show that the traditional weddings aren't always so common!

Here is a picture, my step mom took a picture of it on her cell phone. I sent it through my email (Thanks, Bo!).

Ugh, never mind my dumb face look and the terrible angle that makes me look like a teletubby :p. The dress really looks good, but not in this picture, haha!

My co worker is giving me the 3 month gym member ship that she won, so I can work those stinkin' arms off and get a tan as well :).

WOW! I love that dress! It looks great on you! :D

It's nice that you're choosing something more 'alternative' as well- people will remember it more as it's so unique. I always thought I would do the same but now I've fallen in love with a plain white dress lol :)

Oh it's so cute Amy! I love the color on you. You look so pretty in it. I think it's a great pick. I told my partner if we get married legally, it will have to be on a glacier, so no wedding dress for me! Just hiking boots :) I can't wait for all the pictures from your big day. I know I'll have to wait but I'm looking forward to them! Congrats.
