How is the new job going? I'm ROFLOL at the thought of how to answer you.
Let's see - I'm ready to shoot my coworkers (no - I'm not working at a post office)- blow up the computer and make sure my mute button is GLUED down so they can never hear me.
WHY oh WHY do people not follow directions?
We're in training and all I can say is if this company only hires 2-3% of the applicants and this is what my coworkers will be like....they are hiring about 1.75% too many!
First of all - we were told ahead of time to download certain software for our computers. We were told WHERE to go to download this software. The download page is pretty darn clear on what software you need for which program.
So WHY were we waiting on Friday afternoon for 3 people to download software?
This week has been horrid....really horrid. I love the training itself - I'm learning a lot (we've been learning about the privacy laws and stuff). But I'm ready to shoot someone if they interrupt the instructor one more time.
She'll start out by saying, "Now class...we're going to go here and this is how we get here.." and walking us through it and someone else will interrupt her to say, "Will you tell us what to do for this assignment?" (and she's halfway through walking us through it). Or....less than 10 minutes after training starts...someone has to take a restroom break (DUH) and she asks us to wait for her to get back.

I wanted to do this - to be a customer service rep and then move on to be a coach...then a trainer....then a recruiter. The trainer part was optional - but my plans were at least for coach and then recruiter.
HA HA HA.
Day One - lesson learned.....PEG IS NOT CUT OUT TO BE A TRAINER. I WOULD NOT BE AS NICE TO THESE PEOPLE AND I'D RANT AND LECTURE AT THEM.
Day Two - lesson learned.....SOME PEOPLE JUST CAN'T BE COACHED. I think I banged my head against the desk a few times.
Yesterday I was talking to another gal who knew my goals and said, "Maybe I am down to being a CSR and then recruiter and forget the coach part.." Her comment...?
"You can't be a recruiter. You'll never hire anyone!"
Problem is - she's right.
Jim - I think the thing that gets me is...the company hires these people and you know it costs probably $100 for the drug tests and background checks and processing the paperwork....then another $1000 for training (120 hours @ $8 per hour plus the trainer's time for a class of 15 or so).
And half the people are incompetent!
Oh well....
I think I'll love the job once I get to the customers...I don't expect them to come prepared or know what they're doing..

Aside from rolling in dough... :biggrin2:..how's the new job going?
Friday I worked alone....took way too many calls for my liking. There was one 45 minute period where I took 25 calls.
