I finally stopped chickening out and I just did it! Yay!

Hopefully it will heal well and everything will be ok. I'm such a hypochonriac and that's what took me so long to get it. So far, so good! Got it 2 hours ago and it'slittle tender but not too bad.

This is the only other piercing I ever wanted (and will ever get) so, yay!

Anything I should be worried about over the next few days or so?

I got mine done many years ago. Just don't sleep on the piercing and if you use H2O Ocean it will heal really well :).
Where do I buy the H2O Ocean stuff? They just gave me an aftercare solution that has no alcohol. But after reading about the stuff you told me to get, it seems a lot better.

Nevermind...I looked on there site and found a Tattoo parlor that sells it right down the street. But I won't be able to get there until tomorrow. Using the other stuff for one day won't kill me I guess. I'll pick up the other stuff tomorrow morning.

So this stuff is better than the Normal Aftercare solution because it's all natural right? Would this be better to reduce scarring? (like I said before, I'm a hypochondriac :) )

I have used the H2Ocean stuff with my ear gauging, tongue piercing, and lip piercings....and I have never had them get infected. The H2Ocean allows the piercings to breathe. Honestly, when you spray this stuff on the new piercing, you feel a huge "relief" to the area. It's amazing stuff!

This stuff will reduce scarring, as well.

You won't regret this stuff, hehe. It's a tad pricey ($20 for the bigger bottle here), but it's awesome.

I am so lame...... I was thinking - What? she had her nose cartlige pierced...... ??? She's going to have a nose ring like a bull???

Your ear LOL - I've actually wanted that done. Where on your ear did you get it?

Don't pick at it :p

Of all my piercings and tattoos, the cartridge was the only one that hurt.

LMAO! It's ok, you're not lame!

I got it on the upper ear, but not up at the very top. More eye level. I'll take a photo of it later.

And okiron, I haven't touched it once since I got it. I've been very good so far! :)

I just got my industrial done the other day, but I am in no way new to piercings. I currently have my nose, monroe, center labret, 11 lobe piercings, and my tragus. But I've had -many- more in the past.

The H2O Ocean is way better than the normal aftercare stuff they give you. Did you get it done with a gun or (the better/healthier way) a needle? :)

Good luck with it! :D

I am glad you like it and finally did it.

I am really thinking about getting a tongue ring or nose ring really. Maybe in few months I will do one of the two. I know my mom and hub won't be pleased. Oh well it is what I want. lol

Oooh I should pick up some of that stuff for my cartilidge ear. It gets tender when I sleep on it funny. I have had that peirce for many years too. lol

I went to the tattoo place that supposedly had the H2Ocean, and they didn't carry it anymore. And...sigh:baghead I got it with the gun. I know, I know. You don't have to tell me. I tried with the needle but as soon as I see it, I freak. And I even had pierced my own ear (not cartilage) with a needle once, but I just couldn't get myself to do it. So, it was with the gun. And I know it's going to take a little longer to heal as well. Im very careful with cleaning my hands with antibacterial soap and I don't ever touch it unless I have to clean it. I haven't played with it once.

Since I couldn't get my hands on the H2O stuff, I just did a sea soak salt instead with pure sea salt (no iodine) and warm distilled water. It was soothing.

It doesn't hurt, but it is still a little pink. I'm cleaning it like I'm supposed to and I rinse it with clean hot water and clean it with the solution and dry it after I shower. So, I'm guessing the slight pink is normal since it doesn't hurt and is not swelling or pussy or anything. I think I might also put a heating pad on it as well.

Any more tattoo places in the area? They also carry H20 Ocean in Hot Topic.

Sweetpea...I had my nose done, and it was by far the most painful piercing I had ever gotten. The tongue, on the other hand, didn't hurt one bit! It hurt less than my snakebites, and I got both holes in my lips done right after the other.

:)

Id on't think it will hurt me on the tongue cause right where they would pierce it is numb like sorta.

I fell and bit my tongue all most completely off. It never really effected me or swelled up much either.

i may do it, but I may chicken out a bit. I almost chickened out on my navel piercing. lol

They didn't numb me or do anything at all. Didn't feel a thing. Only thing that bugs is you sit there with your tongue hanging out and you drool lmao. If you already have your naval pierced then you'll be fine with the tongue.

We do have a Hot Topic in the mall but I can't get there until tomorrow or Friday. I'm not feeling too hot today and it's -25 degrees Farenheit outside. So, I think I'm just going to sit back and relax today. I'll just keep doing the warm sea salt soaks with the distilled water.

Should I be using any other cleaner (like 1x a day) and do the sea salt soaks 2x a day? I just don't want to over irritate it. Feels good today though.

And thanks for being so helpful!

Here's 2 photos of the piercing (left ear). They're not gross but I'll just have links to them just in case people are grossed out by the thought of piercings (and please excuse the messed up hair, not makeuped side of face, and bad Miami Dolphins hoodie...it's too cold to look nice today):

I cleaned it this morning so I'm thinking it's a little red just because I had messed with it while cleaning (turing it once). I just hope it doesn't look infected. It's hard for me to tell because it's not hurting or anyting. I just know they said if it's red for over 24 hours, remove it. I got it at 3pm on Monday. I'm not going to remove it, but I just hope I didn't screw anything up.

I know they don't numb at all. But the area where they would pierce it is a bit numb there, since I bit it all most completely off, the nerves were a bit messed up.

Im going to Hot Topic on friday when I get my skirt from sears since they got the stuff.

Ooh that looks goood on ya, a bit tender which is normal. Same with me. but I have much thicker cartilidge though. So I have to use one of those loop things they use for navel rings with screw ons, or tongue ring stright ones there.

Did I say that this was my last piercing??? Well...after watching videos on YouTube, I think I could totally handle a nose piercing. I'm not going to get it anytime soon, but I think if I just close my eyes the entire time, it seems pretty quick. And it does look less painful with the needle than the gun. I can totally see the difference now.

BTW, there were people on there that got their noses done with a gun. I didn't think you could do that! I definitely wouldn't go through that much cartilage with a gun. My ears aren't too think so I opted for that, but still. Ouch!

When I got my cartilidge done by the gun, it did not hurt until I had to pull the backing to where you feel it click. That is when it hurt, throbbin, or when I would brush my hair, Ooooo it hurts bad. Then a week later it was only tender.

Now because it is thick up there, I need to try that H2Ocean stuff. I have to see which mall near me have hot topic. I know there is on in the mall by my parents.

My nose was the least painful out of all of my piercings. My cartiledge (in my ear) hurt way worse than my nose. I actually think my industrial was the worst even over my monroe, but probably because the needle got stuck both times.

The only thing that is really wrong with doing it with a gun is because it tears the tissue into jagged pieces instead of a straight cut since it's basically piercing your ear with a blunt object - the earring. Also, the fact that you can't really clean into the tiny edges of a piercing gun where all the gunk may get trapped. Many people do it that way so theres no -real- issue with it if you can't bring yourself to do it with a needle. :p

Where you said if it is red for more than 24 hours you need to take it out, that is not true. You've basically punctured your ear so it will be red and sore for a few days (possibly a few weeks). Besides, it's recommended that if you have a piercing with an infection, not to remove it, but to go to the doctor for antibiotics as removing the piercing will "trap" the infection once the "wound" heals over. At least with the stud there it has a way to get out. :)

Mixing salt with water and soaking your ear is good too, that is what I use when I am out of H2O Ocean. Try not to clean it anymore than 2-3 times a day. Anymore is going to irritate it. The only time you need to clean more is when you've been in a dusty area or have gotten sweaty, otherwise 2-3 is perfect. :)

Edited to add: I noticed you were saying about the piercing the nose with a gun. It's highly adviced against, most places wont even consider using a gun. It is hard enough to pierce threw the tiny bits of cartiledge in your ear, let alone your nose and it is much more likely to "jam" which will cause the piercer to have to pull/tug on the gun to get it unstuck. With a needle it is one slow motion, needle in, and then as the needle comes out, the piercer slides the stud (orcaptive bead ring)into place right behind the needle, being sure not to lose connection (and making it much less likely to bleed or feel much if any pain at all!)
