Yup, I had to take a urine test for my new job. I failed, because I take Adderall for my ADHD. Blah. They just have to verify my prescription and such.

I'm just a little ticked because at the place where I took the test, they did not ask me which medications I am currently taking. None of their forms asked, either. This could have been prevented, but they are retarded. Sorry if I offend anyone with the word "retarded", but the way they handled it makes me think they are.

The doctor I had to talk on the phone with sounded like he was on Valium or something. I've never heard such a "far out" doctor.

I still have the job, they just have to verify my prescription. I do have a prescription, I'm not a druggie! I have never even tried to smoke a cigarette! I don't like the idea of "toxins" or medications in my system unless they need to be. I don't even drink! For my 21st birthday, I went to a place called FunWorld (like a Chuck E Cheese, but adults can come in without children). I played Skee Ball, and I didn't have a drop of alcohol! I never thought I'd fail a drug test. *pouts*

Ugh! :grumpy:

:hug2:

It's ok Kelly we still like u even if it wasn't ADHD meds..
I'm the same as I don't smoke or drink. I'm sure everything will be fine even if u go a place where kids can go and adults can go with out the kids. Sounds kinda weird but i can't stop ya...

Ouch, that's sucks. They should have definitely asked if you were on meds before the test...

I've never had to take a pee test for a job, do you mind me asking what kind of job it is??

What?? I like skee-ball! The Chuck E. Cheese by us won't let adults in if they don't have children with them. Funworld does, and it's basically a big arcade for kids. Will and I like playing the shooting games there, too.

I am not a druggy! :grumpy:

EDIT: It's for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position at a nursing home. What do they care, anyway? Their seniors are on such strong medicine, anyway! :p

Well hon from someone who regularly has to drug test and be subjected to randoms due to job I can tell you what the facillity we use told me. They are NOT allowed to put on the forms with a drug test what meds the patient is on. The reason being is you could say you're on medicine X. The tester at the lab could look at it and see you're on medicine X and decide not to test for whatever group that falls under and end up missing medicine Y which you do not have a prescription for but is a prescription medication. I hope that made sense. So they just tell you that when they find something they will call you and you have to provide the verification. Where we are at you have to be careful cause if a prescription is over I think it's a year old they will not consider it a valid prescription. Easily fixed if you just call your doctor, but a hassle none the less.

I sent yours out in the mail a week ago, I think. The lady kind of pushed me through the line and I asked about tracking and stuff and she snapped at me. *Beep*

I have about 1/4 of the ones that you sent me put in their little packets and labeled. Will keeps complaining that they are all over the apartment, so I have to keep cleaning them up, putting them away, then re-taking them out later. It takes forever to get these things organized while he is around!

:grumpy:

I had to take drug tests for other jobs, too. The bank was one of them... I had to give them a list of my medications before taking it, and they said that if they needed verification for any of them, they would call. Like, if I say that I am on Adderall, they test for it anyway, then call for verification. The last one had me bring in all my pill bottles, too. They took the prescription/refill information and called to verify it anyway.

Hey! I resemble that statement :p. I take valium for anxiety. Do I seem far out? Kinda hoping I do .

That sucks though, gah, I failed a drug test once too because of second-hand smoke (weed), my parents always smoked it around me. I've never touched a cigarette or anything either.

I've only had to take one drug test in my like (for my current job) and they used a mouth swab. You had to keep this cotton thing on a stick in between your teeth and cheek for about 5 minutes. So much more civilized!

I've had all three kinds - the cotton swab in mouth, the urine sample...and a hair analysis! They clip a tiny snip of hair, really close to the roots. She was really careful and took it from underneath so it wouldn't look funky when it grew out.

BTW: Did you know that poppy seeds can make you fail certain, very sensitive, drug tests? When Dave was active duty, he was strictly advised to NEVER eat poppy seeds, as they do random testing and the chemical (from which heroin is made, btw) stays in the bloodstream for up to several weeks!

Wow that sucks! I am sorry you had to deal with that!

Hopefully you'll get the job!

I have the job, thank goodness! I start in about a 1/2 hour! I had to get up at 5:00AM this morning! :grumpy: They couldn't terminate my job because I have a legal prescription for it!
