So, I'm sitting out in the garden, at our patio table, with my laptop, watching the bunnies, as usual. It's a lovely hot day, but with a bit of a breeze today, so it's even nicer...

And for some reason, I keep getting this, this waft of sea air! It smells just like seaweed, seashells, seawater and sand... I can't describe it. It's taking me right back to my childhood days of summer holidays lol...

The strange thing is, we're at least a good hour from the sea, and I doubt that you'd even call the muddy estuary of Weston-Super-Mare the sea anyway, so make that 1 1/2-2 hours... SO weird! It's probably some kind of drain smell or something from down the road :p

Anyway, it's just adding to this overwhelming feeling I have right now that I NEED a holiday. A holiday with a beach, and a pool, and sun, and cocktails....

Anyone else get that 'holiday' feeling as soon as the sun comes out? :)

Gosh, I don't half blabber on, do I?!

Gosh yesterday i felt like that too! I was lazing around in my shorts and a strappy top (which so happens to be the outfit i LIVED in on holiday in Spain last year), dreaming of Pimms and water fights.

Today is trying to be sunny, although not quite as good. It finally feels like it might be summer soon.

I'm not going on holiday this year, i think i might go camping with my friens though. If not, many days down on Brighton Pier shall be had! We might even go to France for a
few days now my friend has a car.

Lottie hasn't been indoors with me at all in the last 2 days (apart from eye drop sessions!) you should see her now, shes relaxed out in her favourite tube in the garden.

All this nice weather reminds me of that advert, the Bulmers one

I second the need for a vacation (holiday to you guys ;)).

I used to live at the beach each summer, but that's a long time past and now I'm in Ohio where the yucky Lake Erie is the only thing that passes for a "beach" here. So yeah...I really need a cabana boy to come by and help me break into the martinis.

:p.

Oh i've already started the martinis, had my first martini and lemonade of the year on Saturday!

Its the Pimms i need. Real pimms, with apple and cucumber and mint leaves :heartbeat:. Isn't it weird at summer BBQs how the day starts with 1 part Pimms to 3 parts Lemonade and slowly increases? :p

PIMMS??! Now you're killing me.... I'm also a big fan of Bulmers too, having to make do with apple juice and lemonade LOL! :p

I shouldn't be torturing myself, but I'm looking up cheap holidays online.... Could get to Greece somewhere for a week for about £250 or less.... *sigh*

I'm starting to think that maybe I'm just imagining this sea smell, because I need a holiday that badly. It's driving me mad trying to think about where it's coming from!

Oooh a holiday, the days of devon every summer, for 2 weeks, on the beach every morning, there early enough to watch the tide go out, then in the evening, eating fish and chips whilst walking along the beach in the sun set ;), then get back, go for a swin in the pool on the camp site, sitting out till 12pm, then to bed and starting the day the same all over again...bliss :p. We have locked ourselves in our home now though. Its not easy finding someone to care for 3 cats, 4 guinea pigs, 8 ferrets, 1 parrot, 1 rabbit, 2 barn owls, 2 hawks, and a european eagle owl.

PS. Mouse_chalk hope you get a holiday this year :D

My Dad lives in Bournemouth. His house is a 10 minute walk through Branksome Chine (a weird little forest in the middle of a town!) from the beach. He also ha a bought (no, not a posh yacht or something, don't get the wrong impression, its a medium sized rib!) We sailed over from Lilyput to Skegness. He dropped us off and then anchored up out in the water, donned a wetsuit and swam out to the shore to eat fish and chips with us! You should have seen him, this big man in a black wetsuit looming out of the sea like the monster from the deep then wandering around town :D.

I can't wait for summer!!! Barbeques! Yay!

Oh dear. Now you're making me hungry as well as wanting to go on holiday! There's a place in Devon called Lynmouth, and a little town above it called Lynton, that we used to daytrip to when I was younger. I've been back there a few times since, last June being the most recent. There's some really cute little bays nearby, and they do the BEST ever fish and chips, ice cream, cream teas and homemade fudge!

It's hard to decide whether holidays here or abroad are best. I love Greece. We went to Corfu a couple of years ago and spent a week eating delicious Greek food, and drinking cocktails in this tiny little bar near our apartment, and spent most of the days lounging by the pool or on the beach... :)

I soooooo want a holiday now!:X

Either that or a barbeque lol!!

Well since posting this in the last few minutes i have decided to host a barbeque in the next few weeks if the weather stays. We're still working on the garden so as soon as it is done i will have a nice barbeque. We dont have space to sit, so picnic blankets on the ground it shall be!

My friends were desperate to go on a big holiday to Spain this year. I managed to convince them otherwise. Its not that i don't want to go, but alot of hotels won't allow under 18's to sign the contract. Seeing as we are all 17 (my oldest friend turns 18 in September) i said why don't we hold off until next year, when it can be a big end of A-levels celebration. It will be cheaper because we can go after exams in June and we will be guaranteed to get into the bars and stuff (i'm sure we could get in somewhere but still). So i'm now trying to see if i can kick my Dad out of his house for a few days to see if he will let 6 17 year olds stay in his house. If not we might go to a hostel in Newquay or somewhere.

Gosh tell me about it they are soooooooooooo good man I'd love one of them right now!. MyGrandma has a big bottle of pimms it like cost her $70 though soi'm only allowed them every now and again when mums not round:pcause she thinks i'm to young... I wish it was summer right now, you've got me started lol

Curiosity got the better of me, so I checked on Yahoo Currency Converter, $70 is almost £27! So it's about twice the price...

I agree though, you've got to do it properly if you're going to! Oh, Pimms O'clock!:p

Btw, I think I cursed us. There's no sun today, it's chilly! No 'sea air' either! :(

Oh, and if I do get made redundant, which looks extremely likely now, I am SO taking me and Steve on holiday, we need it!

LOL I've had that before where I've sat on our backgarden and can smell the sea, the nearest beach to us must be about 3 or 4 hours away lol. It must be wishfull thinking.

Wish I hadn't read this post now Jen because I want a holiday, cocktails and a bbq. Where the hell has the damn sun gone? It was lovely yesterday Grrr

Oh I sooo need to get to a beach!:DWe usually go stay in a friend's house up on the South West Coast of Scotland every summer which is right on the beach however we're not going this year.:(I love that beach as well - and it is such a little heat trap! No need to go to Italy or Spain.:p

I'm also still trying to convince my parents to hire a horse trailer and take me and Smokey (horse)to the beach so I can have a beach ride.;)Unfortunately they aren't as keen on the idea as I am.:grumpy:If only I had my licence!:rollseyes
