My 3 year old son went on a field trip with HeadStart to a pumpkin patch today. Some very bad parent droppeda Xanax on the floor. He found it. The teachers looked back to find himlicking it!!!!! Just a moment later and he would have eaten it. I am intotal shock, anger, and grateful that the Lord guided those teachers insaving his life.

I choked on a lifesaver in 2nd grade once. My teacher gave me heimlich, got it out.

I swallowed it...it didn't go down, I was like ....crap. So I raised my hand like a good student and she was like ''what?''

"I shwallowbed a wifeshaver and it didn't go downnnnn"

And looking back on what happened I'm like wtf. She was like ''c'mere''and made me walk to the front of the class, then heimlich thingied metwice and she was like ''did it come out?'' and I shook my head and shewas like ''go get a drink''. We had a water fountain in the class andon my way there I threw up and everyone laughed at me.

I think I would have rather just choked.

Anyone well trained in first aid now would know that if you could talk, you could breathe.

In that case, the thing to do would be to encourage you to "keep coughing, keep coughing"

Yeha, I don't really kow if she was responsiblefor my ...vomiting. But she just seemed to handle the whole situationin some kind of ''I don't care'' mode. There was more thanone occasion where she made me cry during class.

How ironical, and they call them Lifesavers. ;)

Same thing happened to me too.I think I was in thethird grade during recess,I started to coughand choke on alifesaver. The Principletook me into the office, and gave me a cupof waterinstead ofdrinking from the waterfountain. I gottodrink out of ateachers coffeemug.:cool:He stayed with me untilI was fine.

Rainbows! :D

I also choked on a "Lifesaver" as atoddler. My mother ripped open the back of my throat with herfingernail in an attempt to get the candy out (I don't remember theincident, but probably would have preferred vomiting LOL)

An exboyfriend of mine, as a child, choked onsomething...candyish. His moth panicked and didn't know what to do andjust picked him up by his ankles and held him upside down and shookhim. I guess it worked...but I wouldn't approve this method.

I apologize. We didn't mean tominimize the seriousness of the situation and the possible effects asmall child could have had by taking a tranquilizer.

I think many of us have become so desensitized to what goes on inschools today and on the school bus that a young child finding a pillon the bus seems mild. I was absolutely shocked by what mykids said goes on in the buses (it's too graphic to describe on thisboard).

I homeschool my kids now.

Sorry Binkies.

I didn't know what Xanax wasuntil now.It isvery serious, evenfor an adult toingest that type ofdrug, without the supervisionof a doctor.

How could someone drop oneand not bother tolocate and pick it up.

Rainbows :(
