Sooooo...there is this lady at work who needed someone to watch her two kitties (Chocolate and Whiskers) while she went away to a gem & jewelry show (she's a jeweler). I said I would watch her kitties because she only lives about 5 minutes from my house. She said she was delighted that I would watch them because I love kitties and she said that if she didn't find anyone to watch them in time (she leaves Friday), then she would have had to take the cats to THE POUND :(.

She had mentioned to me before that she was wanting to rehome the kitties (that she has had since 4 weeks old) because her beloved miniature Poodle, Dylan, loves to eat cat poop and gets sick when he does. So I think to myself: Uh......okay.....my dog eats cat poop too, but I won't rehome my cats because of that.

Anyway, we get to her house to meet the kitties and see where the cat food and stuff is. I walk in the door and almost DIED, I was greeted by the most adorable cat on the face of the earth. Now, Peg (TinysMom) knows how much I loved Chaucer (her chocolate Lionhead) because he was, well....CHOCOLATE!! I am a sucker for any brown animal...hence the reason why I have all tort colored rabbits, they aren't chocolate, yeah, but I just love the color brown. If I could have had a chocolate cat, I would have gotten a chocolate cat. I mean, this kitty even has chocolate colored whiskers and his eyes are even hinted with a chocolate color! His undercoat is very faint dark chocolate tiger markings.

So, here I am, home....dying....drifting away.........UHHHH.....I mean....dreaming about that chocolate kitty.

MUST HAVE CHOCOLATE KITTY :(:(:(:(:(.

Awww! Chocolate kitty is beautiful. I'm partial to grey cats, myself. Though my cats are black and white, lol.
That's the lamest excuse for getting ridof a pet I've ever heard! There are ways to make the litter box inaccessable to the dog! I've yet to foil Daisy, though, she'sbound &determined to eat cat poop. She's totally chomped up my litter boxes trying to turn them so she can get into the door. lol

I know, right? My dog eats rabbit poop and rat poop too, lol!!

I am most likely rehoming 3 of the baby girl rats from Ralphie and Spice's litter. I had a guy email me just a bit ago very interested in the trio and wanting to come by to see them. He even said he would go out and buy all the proper supplies :).

That being said, it will be easier to care for the rats, for sure. I am just finding it awfully difficult to handle 13 rats. I also am outdoing the limit in the current cage....the limit is 6 and I have 7 in there (all the girls).

I don't know if they will make Ryan feel better about another kitty :p. When we got in the car he said, "No more kitties, love!". I mean, cats are the easiest things to care for....but I don't know. I am nuts for thinking about it! I just fell for the stinkin' chocolate kitty. He is so sweet, too, but kind of shy. He was shy of Ryan because he has never been around men before. As soon as Chocolate warmed up to me, he started licking my hands and rubbing on every thing around him, lol.

With probably making the move to Madison, Wisconsin (haven't shared that info yet!), I don't know that adding another kitty is the right thing to do.

Darn it, Chocolate kitty :?. I don't know how I will be able to go take care of him for the next two weeks without falling in love.

That cat is BEAUTIFUL! What a shame his owner doesn't seem to deserve him by the sounds of it :(

I know. Poor chocolate kitty :(.

Yes....moving....we hope . I am not 100% on the details yet, but we hope it will happen. We are ready to get out of AZ and start our life!

Madison is a good place for bunny lovers, but I bet the snow will be a shock to you!

That is why I am excited to move there. I want to be closer to bunny and rat people...plus have places available where I can get Oxbow locally!

Ohhh...the snow probably won't be a shocker. I was born and raised in Upstate New York. I just moved to AZ a bit over 3 years ago :p.

Bo...wouldn't that be awesome :biggrin2:?!

Paul2641...I wish I could take in the Chocolate kitty, but I am not sure about it yet. I am not sure if we should take on another kitty :?.
