I am not a morning person. I think it is ungodly to be up before 10am. I work into the nights/early morning most nights, so this isn't too unreasonable when I go to bed after 3am. This morning, however, I am in a very grouchy mood. I went to bed just after 3am and was woken up at 5:14 after repeated thumps from one of the rabbits. I went in to check on them and all seemed fine. I leave classical music on at night for the rabbits and turtles and at the time it was more of a marching band than classical music. I'm wondering if it didn't set off one of the rabbits. What do you think? They've been fine with the classical music all week until this morning.

After checking on everyone, I tried to go back to sleep but, knowing the construction guys who are moving the water lines to my apartment building would be here around 7:30, I couldn't get back to sleep. I tossed for two hours before giving up on getting more than two hours of sleep. I sort of want to murder the rabbit who woke me up, but because I don't know which one was doing it..... :nasty: I wouldn't really hurt one of them, but at 5:15 in the morning, I was fantasizing about it. Ever been there?

That's rough. Being woken up like that would be trying for anyone.
I don't leave music on for the pets, but I listen to rock or metal basically all the time and they haven't minded a single bit. Peppy only thumps if he's frustrated from no pats, or if something falls and he feels it in the floor. Maybe the music made it sound like something fell, or he felt the music through the floor.. it could have even been a sound you made while in bed. Who knows.

Oh, how cute that he loves you that much! NOT!! When I'm upset with them I always tell them "it's a good thing you're cute!" I have tinnitus, so I usually have some music or the TV on for background noise so the ringing doesn't drive me to distraction. Evil thoughts, all the time!

Wellthe first week that I had him he was a bit of a biter, so maybe the peeing could be considered as an improvement. Maybe.

He earned the name The Slash Master B for barreling out of nowhere and opening a bloody two inch gash on my left ankle. Not the only time that he drew blood on a hop-by slashing either.

You haven't lived until you've had a rabbit jump up into bed, walk over to you and calmly bite you on the tip of your nipple. Now all that he does, in addition to the peeing, is lick me on the end of my nose. He has become a very friendly, affectionate bunny.

Three and a half pounds of pure attitude.

I'm sorry BunBuns, but you made me giggle with that one. My cats seem to have a special desire to catch my poor nipples all the time when they are jumping on me for attention.

I started leaving the music on in the animal room because it does get so quiet in the house and I feel it must be pretty boring to hear almost nothing all day. I'm working on setting up a playlist on an old mp3 player that has bird sounds and such so they have at least that to hear. I just can't imagine being in dead silence all the time. I'm sure rabbits and turtles aren't writing novels in their heads or dreaming about the green grass on the other side of the fence.

I'm still trying to get the rabbits litter trained, but it's tough with my male Jumper. He likes to relax in the Carefresh in his litter pan and go everywhere else. Hare and Little Bun eat and go potty in the hay container, which creates a nasty mess, but at least all the urine is in one place. They still drop poos everywhere though. I don't think I'll have them free range for at least another year or two because of the current litter training status and because I'm moving in with a roommate who has a dog with unknown interest in non-dog animals. He's a good dog, but I'm not sure how he will react to little critters or my cats. My dog thinks she's a guinea pig, so if I was living alone I wouldn't be too worried. I would be most worried that she would groom the rabbits to death. So, for now they get up to three hours of chasing the cats in the animal room. I just need to get everyone fix so that Hare can join the boys in tormenting my poor cats.

Well, it's not nice to laugh at other people's pain. I do have another story to tell you though. I fell asleep for a few minutes this afternoon and woke up to a cat's behind in my face. Of all the places in this apartment, she couldn't face her hind end in another direction. I told her to move and she farted. Up my nose. I may have to cook her for dinner one day soon. Lol

Haha, I think animals are very smart. I also think they have a sense of humor:biggrin:

My rabbits almost gave me a heart attack the other day. I recently got them a new huge x-pen for their cage, and they live in my room. In the middle of the night there was a big crash coming from the bunnys cage. I thought one of the cats had jumped on the x-pen(which is prob impossible cause its 4 feet high), and very unlikely, so I got up quickly and flipped the light on, here was hunter jumping up on the cage shaking it.:rollseyes

They seem to know that humans hate being woken up in the middle of a good sleep in general. Jumper has discovered that he can fit on top of the water bottle. I have a picture of it somewhere... let me find it.

I guess so! Luckily, I was so tired from sleeping so little, that I slept through anything that might have gone on. I even slept through the construction work this morning and a very important phone call. Though, the phone call did come in at 8am and I never answer the phone at such an ungodly hour anyway. Lol

The rabbits sure are noisy at the moment though. They know I'm gong to be cleaning the cages today because I made the mistake of bringing in the clean fleece and towels.

Lol! That's funny! I wish my guys were litter trained all ready so that they could annoy the cats at night. Then maybe the cats wouldn't annoy me so much. It sure is funny watching the cats with these little rabbits. I have never seen a cat be backed into a corner so fast! The girls (cats) all seem to think it's safer up high where they think the rabbits can't get them. The great thing is, if the rabbits were completely litter trained, then I would only have to worry about the dog licking them to death. Though, I'm guessing if they were out all the time she wouldn't be nearly as interested in grooming the rabbits.
