Just another quick question. I bought this hutch cover for my rabbit:

She is due to have babies October 1st and I want her and the babies to be warm and cozy because they are outside and the temp is about 70/60 degrees F as the high and 40/30 F as the low.

My question is if the hutch cover will provide enough ventilation? The bottom of the hutch has wire so that part will be open but the rest will be covered. Some people have said it won't so I just wanted to get a wider opinion.

Thanks everyone! :)

I would NOT use it. In my opinion it is a waist of $$. You could just use a towel on the side. That would do the same thing. With the towel you can make sure it is up an inch or two to provide ventalation.

I agree, you didn't really need it. Youcould've covered the hutch with tarps orblankets and left a few inches between the bottom of the cover and the ground. With the item you listed the cold night winds can easily come up through the floor. You want some ventilation but that may be too much. Are you protecting it from the northwind some other way, like placing the hutch against the house?

It looks like a nice cover, and since you've already bought it, it would be silly to use something else instead. Another way to keep the hutch warm is to offer lots of straw or hay for nesting. Be sure to change it out regularly though if it is soiled. But that will help keep the floor warmer on especially cold days.
