I've lived in AZ for 4.5 years and have never seen this much rain before in my life....and I even lived in NY for the first 16 years of this life!

It started last night with strong winds around 10pm, followed by heavy snow all night long (we got about 7" by morning), then around 9am it started sleeting, and now it has been heavily raining since 9:30am! The wind is so strong that its shaking my house, tree branches have fallen all over my back yard, my stinkin' dog is too scared to go potty outside, I couldn't go to work today and they closed work for tomorrow because its supposed to snow all night and all of this rain is supposed to freeze!! The lights have been flickering all day. Our AZ room's roof started leaking and drenches my husband's brand new computer keyboard/mouse, duel monitors, music equipment, sound system, flat screen HD tv. We are hoping everything is okay...that is a lot of money lost if not and we can't afford to replace any of it!!!

I hope it calms down by Saturday...I need to go out to get dog & cat food.

I'm hoping I can get a decent bale of hay around here after all of this, since this weather isn't normal for AZ and merchants here don't cover bales like they would elsewhere.

Argggggggg!!!!!

Yeah, I agree. I am a AZ native, and NEVER have seen this much rain or storming.
I am practically flooded in..I am 2nd story apartment and I don't see how anyone could drive let alone step out of my apartment. Thankfully power is still one.
National Weather Service reported a "sighting" of a tornado in Gilbert (VERY close to me,10 min drive) and its one extreme warning.
I would be scared if I didn't think it was so cool.
When the power goes out, thats when I will be afraid.

WE had a lot of rain, flooding, mud/debris slides and even a tornado in LA before I left for Ithaca last night. Ithaca is a brisk 25 degrees, but nice and sunny. Quite the contrast!

I wonder if this is the same storm that hit California hard recently then made it's way out. The wind was crazy! So powerful the power kept going on and off. Not to mention the rain... oh the rain. I was hydroplaning going 50 MPH in the slow lane on the freeway. Couldn't see a darn thing either with the rain falling sideways. So glad it's gone, but honestly we really needed the rain and snow in the sierra to help with the drought!

Stay safe out there. :bunny24

Wow, That must be weird especially since you are not used to it. I hope the weather settles down soon so everything can get back to normal.

there were four storms that came across CA and then into our area--the one that did the most damage actually came back around and stayed in place for quite awhile. In the last two days, we exceeded our yearly rainfall and also in the last two days got more rain and snow than all of last year. Hope everything is okay there now--we are mostly sunny today.

Yeah in vista california ("san diego area") We have had nonstop rain since sunday. Its been crazy! 80 mph winds and almost flash flooding. Also a tornado warning in escondido which is soooooo weird. but today it looks nice which is funny. this is the first time ive really seen the sun all week. your storm should pass! I hope at least. hope all goes well and you can get what you need while still being safe.

Its over for us :). The sun is out today. I am kind of sad because most of the snow will be all gone by tomorrow. I wish it would stay cold enough so the snow would stay.

We just have a huge snow storm. It snowed Friday and all day Saturday and a bit of Today. The city buses weren't running, the cab's were 4 hrs behind.
I walked home from work which took about an hour in -12*C which is 10*F. It was chilly :(

There were blizzard warnings for most of Southern Saskatchewan. They closed parts of the Trans Canada Highway.

we had a like rain type thing going on here, turned into lots of ice, but all seems ok now. Nothing like by u wow glad to hear the sun was out YIPPEE

the weather guessers said the storm that hit us so hard is now at the Eastern edge of the U.S. and doing the same. We've got another one gonna hit here on Wednesday, but the major portion is supposed to hit Arizona and points to the south of us here.

I guess there is another storm coming tomorrow in california. :p gosh just when i thought it was over another is on its way. im glad for the rain though, last year we really didnt get that much.

Ugggghhhh! I don't want more snow on Wednesday! Whenever we get too much snow, we can't make it to work because our stupid '94 Ford Explorer only has rear wheel drive.
