My name is Sara. We call our mini zoo, Trackside Farm. (Its not official just a fun little thing we call our little place because the rail road tracks run across our lane.) My little family consists of myself, my son Shaye, and my hubby Shane. Also calling this home are 4 dogs (3 shelties, and a german shepherd), an old barn cat, an old horse, 8 chickens, and 5 rabbits.

My rabbits are all Lionheads except one and shes a Holland Lop named libby.

I have a 2 year old BEW buck named Wilber. He thinks hes a professional boxer. He, im hoping, will be the start of my BEW breeding program. Im still researching the genetics. I dont want any health issues so im playing it safe and havent started using him yet.

Also part of my little herd is Jesse James. Hes 1.5 years old. Hes a black silver martin lionhead. Hes quite the little social butterfly and has earned his name by stealing anything he can carry and taking it back to his cage. He is probably the Brad Pit of my bunnies and he knows it.

Woody is a lilac point lionhead buck. Hes about 4 months old. Id have to look at his paper work to be for sure. Hes my son's pride and joy. He absolutely loves my son and gets super excited to see him. I love this little guys personality. He is beautiful to boot!

Hope is a blue lionhead Doe. She is around the same age as Woody. She has a huge mane and a personality to match Woody's. She will be my first show bunny and she and Woody will be his 4H buns. Im excited about this little girl.

Libby is our oddball. Shes a blue tort Holland Lop. I purchased her becuse shes a BEW carrier. Shes only 7 weeks old but im dreaming big for this little girl. She has a beautiful pedigree and should also make a nice 4H bun for my son. She has a golden retriever like personalty and is very outgoing.

I hope to start a nice little breeding program but i want to study more and let my girls mature out. Im a worry wort and would hate myself if i produced something bad. I will post pictures as soon as i figure out how to. Hope to get to know some fellow crazy bunny people and learn as much as i can before i start breeding my little guys!

Welcome! I love Lionheads! I'm a bit partial because I have one myself. Just one, a 4mth old black DM doe named Agnes. She is such a joy and from what i keep hearing, most lions are :)

I have fallen in love with her...as well as this forum. Glad you found us. And please post pics if you want....would love to see your buns :)

Welcome. But there are no crazy bunny people here, lol. It's the non-rabbit people who are, well let's not say crazy, but uninformed.

I'm sure you'll do well with your breeding program. It sounds like the hardest part is parting with any of them. I know it would be for me.

With your interest in breeding, I think you would really enjoy the discussions happening in the Rabbitry & Showroom - there are a number of members there quite knowledgeable about genetics.
There is lots to learn here, and I'm sure you have plenty to teach us as well. :)

Welcome!

I would like to welcome you to Rabbits Online, my name is Dave and I am a moderator on the forum. So if I can be of any help please let me know. This is a terrific website for rabbits and their slaves, not only is it very active but also friendly. I am so glad you’re here and I know you will enjoy it.

Many bunnies’ recommend their slaves to this site so we may learn of others methods to keeping our furry masters happy.

If you everhave a sick bunny, please post in The Infirmary and include your rabbit's age, breed and health history as well diet and output details leading up to the problem.

Here are somelinks I thought you might find interesting:

*For reference the Library section

*To brag or tell everyone about the antics of your bunny or just to talk about your day here is where to start a Bunny Blog, you can also look back at it later and remember when you had a life before your bunny.

*Now all the bunny’s like talk to each other when we mere slaves aren’t around in the Bunny Chat is the spot to be.

*The House Rabbit Society has a lot of good information on what veggies are safe for bunny’s, etc.

*Here is a link to learn what your furry master is trying to say to you How to Understand Your Bunny's Language

*Rabbits Online also has regional forums , this a good way to find a vet in your area that has experience with rabbits and to find out from other nearby of good sources of rabbit supplies.

The Let Your Hare Down section is for anything non-bunny related.

Here is a link tothat will help you and your bunny to connect, How to Bond with Your Bunny.

Now every forum has rules and ours can be found with this link Rabbits Online Forum Rules. This gives guidelines on what is acceptable, what is not and how we hope everyone will treat each other.

Everyone on this forum loves to see pictures of each other’s bunnies. So if you would like to post a picture this link will help you do that, Upload Photo's to Photo Gallery. Then in the post, you click on the "G" in the tool bar to insert your photo. Many people also use Photobucket. You just copy the img file and paste it into the post.

Don’t hesitate to ask questions and I am glad you have joined Rabbits Online; I look forward to seeing you around!
