Hi Everyone!
About a month ago, I adopted a bunny from a family who couldn't take care of her anymore. Her name is Chanelle, and she's a Holland Lop. I raised rabbits in my teen years, but they were not tame at all and purely outdoors. With Chanelle, I have her in a 2-story hutch under our back porch, next to the door, against the house. I've put up a little corral at the front of her hutch for daily socialization with me and my family, as well as an opportunity for her to run around a bit whenever I'm outside. I've been trying to bond with her by hand feeding treats, waiting until she approaches me, etc.
Anyway, Chanelle was always picked up by the scruff in the past. I'm trying to pick her up properly (supporting chest & bum/hind legs), but she's really, really struggling with me. At first, I decided to train her to go into a carrier so that I wouldn't need to pick her up. However, smartypants figured out what was going on, and now won't go into the carrier. I need to move her out of her hutch/corral area to clean her hutch, but I can't figure out how to do that without picking her up. I need some help! She seems just so afraid and I don't know what to do.
