Hey people..

So I think my doe is pregnant (if you look at my profile the topic might be on there, or else its in this forum.)

anyway.. I heard about palpation and I tried it but i feel tiny lumps probably a bit smaller than your baby fingernail. Her abdomen feels soft and a little squishy if you get what i mean :?

My buns mated like on the 14th but I don't know what to feel for. What other signs is there that she is pregnant at the early stages?

The little lumps you feel are probably fecal pellets making their way through her digestive tract. It's not easy to find the babies in the uterine horns... and they are about the same size as fecal pellets at this stage.

The safest thing to do is wait it out. Palpating the wrong way can hurt the mother (and possibly the fetus'). Gestation is only 31 days and you're one quarter of the way through... have patience.

Plus, if she is pregnant, the babies could also be older than that so its not sensible to palpate unless you have been taught how.

There you go again with that "P" word...:biggrin2::biggrin2:

:big wink: Ya know, it's a good thing we are dealing with RABBITS that only have a 31 day gestation and not elephants that take 11 months! (They don't "show" either!) :waiting:
