How to find a vet?

H. I have a problem. The thing is that I'm looking for a vet, and have no idea what specialist to choose. I've read a lot of reviews (http://www.pissedconsumer.com/consumer-reviews/veterinary.html) about vets, and now I'm totally confused..I don't want entrust my Jackie to a bad vet!! What are the signs to pay attention to when choosing a vet? Please advise!
