hi all

im thinking of gettting a sresh pineapple tonight for lucy

how much do i give her/prohaps a slice or 2 or more / and do you givethem the fresh pineapple juice aswell/ or seperately/

i have allways been funny about giving it to her as with me i find it to acidic and it gives me heartburn

but do you think she'll be ok with it

also im trying lucy on the vanilla flavouring

in her water for the fly strike problem

thanks varna xxxx

Hi Varna! :waiter:

You can give your little beauty a couple of pieces. Just putit in her dish. Many rabbits love it. Don't have togive the juice separate. You want the juice right from thefresh pineapple.

Hope all is well with you and yours these days and you're health is much improved.

Here in the U.S we have "salad bars" in our supermarket/food markets. These salad bars carry all sorts, kinds, and types, of fresh produce, fruits, vegetables, cold cut meats and fish, egg salad, tuna salad, , etc. that one can purchase loose, by the pound.

Most of them carry fresh pineapple, so one need not have to buy, nor preparea whole fresh pineapple for your bun(s).Just buy enough for the day's portion. You might want to check that out.

Most our buns don't seem to care for it all that much, so don't be terribly disappointed if Lucy turns her nose away from it. LOL

My buns turned their noses up at chucks of pineapple too, Buck ;) They didn't like the pumpkin either :?

We tried pineapple a few months ago and none of the bunnies liked it.

We had some pineapple this weekend and decided to try it with the buns again. Wouldn't you know.....they ALL loved it this time.

Silly buns!

Tucker's like that. He's the one I have to syringe feed thepineapple and pumpkin too. Hate to do it, but it's what worksthe best for GI Stasis so he doesn't have a choice in the matter.

She didnt wanna eat it lol I may get another one for us and freeze some of it and just keep trying :)

We don't get a chance to freeze ourpineapple. If Pebbles doesn't finish it, we end upmaking Pina Coladas.

On hot days, I plan to give Pebbles cold Watermelon.

Rainbows!

Yes, Fluffy, you can give your little one cucumber.

Rowena,

Another choice would be to purchase bromelain at a health foodstore. It's the enzyme in pineapple that breaks down themucus that holds the hair together creating the obstruction. It is also in papaya pills.

Thanks Carolyn. I know I could get her somepills, but if I can get her to eat some pineapple, or maybe somepapaya. But if she wont, then Ill get her some pills

Virginia

Sounds like a good plan, Virginia. :highfive:
