How long do pellets stay fresh?

I'm sure this question has been asked numerous times, I just can't find it in the search.
I have a 1 gallon bag of kaytee forti-diet.
How long do pellets stay good in ziplock bags in the fridge?

I haven't seen any information either, just on not keeping pellets at room temperature for more than a couple months, especially not in humid conditions.

Morgan, have you thought about vacuum packing them, don´t know if they´d last longer like that.

I think I may have like one small vacuum storage bag that would be small enough to fit the bag of pellets. Should I vacuum pack the pellets in the bag they're in IN the vacuum bag, like a bag in a bag? I think thats the way I would have to do it, or I may vacuum up the actual pellets, lol.

That should work and they should last fresh much longer without refrigerating.
