Hi all,

Yesterday, I posted a picture of Devon's pen after it had been screenedover. I asked for opinions on whether or not it could contain him.Well, Devon answered the question for me! My dad found him under my bedonly about 15 minutes after I had left the room! Does anyone have anyideas as to how I can keep him in the pen? I feel so bad because Ireally, really want him and Amber to have that extra room, but I wouldnever forgive myself if he (or Amber) got out and then got hurt.

Thanks,
Bunnydude

How many extra pieces of NIC do you have? Youcould try creating a ledge going around the inside. You'd only need 7and could attach with zip ties to each other and the pen and then withstring to the sides so they could be folded down for easy cleaning.

I suppose I could go and buy some more. That might work. Thanks, Shuu!

There is just too many loose gaps that he willget through. You could cut some cardboard for the top andweigh it down.

Hi Bunnydude!

Is that pen a permanent fixture??? If so, you can buy very thin wire(and its easily cut with scissors)and "sew" the screen meshonto the top of the NIC cubes. and then the one two NIC cubes you useas an access door to get in/out to clean leave un-attached.

The on the top of those NIC squares I would use binder clips to securethe screen down. Put one about every 2". It sounds like Devon isscaling the squares and getting out in between the spaces of theclothes pins which he can manipulate. the binder clips would be muchstronger.

Or actually if you buy like a 100 of the mini-binder clips you can usethat all around the top about every 2" and he should be able to get out.

Goodluck!!!!!!!!!! :)

Freddysmom,

Yesterday I put your idea into practice. Devon has made three or fourescape attempts that I have seen, and not once has he been succesful. Thanks so much! They seem so much happier now that they can once againbe in the pen all day.

O dear! sounds like you have a big problem! hehe.

I had a problem when my rabbit kept going into next doorsgarden. They always say the grass is greener on the otherside.
