I look forward to getting to know you and Daisy better.

One more thing. We just love pictures. But as a way to try andkeep the board neater we all start a home thread and just add all ourpictures to that one thread. We add our bunny pictures and stories andthat way they are all in one place and easy to find.

Thank You xx

I am sure the links will be very useful! I tried asking jeeves butonlyfound a book costing 10 dollars! (I live in the UK). Iwill add some pictures in the way you said at a later date! I have alsofound some useful information regarding litter traininginprevious forum topics.

I had rabbits when I was younger and Parents did most care! I want tokeep Daisy as a house rabbit - would you recommend that I put her in acage at night and whenI go out? Do they need straw andshavings indoors? (my house currently looks like a farm yard!)

This is just how I do it. Others do things differently.

Mine are all caged. I start slow with them. You need to bunnyproof before you let the little one run around. Hide or cover all wiresthat your baby can chew one. Many common house plants are toxic torabbits so those need to be up high out of reach as well. All of minehave a litter box in their cage.

When you let Daisy out keep a close eye on her. Youwant to curb any bad habits as soon as they start so they don't becomea problem. Make sure she has plenty of toys to play with as a boredbunny is a destructive bunny.

I gave mine one small area to play in at first. Put anyaccidents she has in the litter box. As her litter box habits improveyou can give her more space. She will leave some poops laying around atfirst just to mark her territory. It's normal, mine still do itoccasionally.

Never leave her out unsupervised. It only takes a second forher to chew the carpet and that can have devastating effects. Juststart small and work your way up to more play area and longer playsessions. Rabbits like to be clean and most take to the litter boxwell.

I hope this helps.

Tina

Very helpful Thanx

I have just looked at the links and they are really useful especiallythe cheat sheet! I am going to buy a proper litter tray tomorrow toleave out as my partner turned the cupboard under the stairs intoDaisy's bed yesterday and she can't get to it while with us in theliving room! I will get her plenty of toys aswell! Fortunately we havelaminate flooring so no worries about carpet although need to coverwires!

Thanks for your help much appreciated!

Awww, you are very welcome. I'm just glad I could help.

With the toys, you really don't have to spend any money onthem. I bought this bunch tons of toys. They would rather play with thenewspaper, the cardboard tubes from toilet paper and paper towelrolls(the ones without glue) stuffed with hay, brown paper bags andmaple and willow sticks to chew on.

There is a great toys post around here some where too. If youtype in toys in the search box at the top it will bring it up foryou.

I have just put hay in a toilet roll for Daisy but I don't think she knows what to do with it yet! I'm sure she will soon xx
