How's this for a multi-topic post? I thought I'd update and then add some pictures tomorrow.... hopefully.

First, I get to pick up Lexi tomorrow. I haven't talked to her since Tuesday but I have txt with my niece. She said Lexi is doing fine. We'll see what Lex says tomorrow LOL!

Next - my son and I are really messed up with poison ivy. We're on prednisone and some really intense itchy lotion and allergy pills. This is the third day of the prednisone and I am ...... ITCHY! We found out that the lamb really is not even owned by the guy we know. It's some other guy where he keeps his sheep.... and this other guy wouldn't say thanks for nothing! and wouldn't have spent 10 min let alone an hour in poison ivy to get her. I wish no one had told them about her..... makes me so mad..... I'm into about $50 or $60 in medicine let alone the agony!

Finally got an answer on the truck claim...... After telling her insurance company I would file a small claims lawsuit on her if they didn't pay up, she came clean with the fact she didn't know if she crossed into my parking space and a few other little details..... Plus the fact that the police put her at fault also and told that I was IN my truck avoiding them when she arrived and they attacked me verbally each time they got a chance... They'll pay 100% of the repairs being done next week and provide me a rental car while it's in the shop.

Bleh... rental CAR

You should have demanded a rental MONSTER TRUCK with KC Lights.. Nerf Bars.. Flowmasters and some big honkin moo moo's...

Heh..

Zin - I get 12 mpg in my F250. I'd be happy to have a smart car for a week!!!! :p

Patti - we have had all these floods here, so a lot of people have rentals right now. If the company is down to a porshe, they have to send it to me! :biggrin2:Can you say ROAD TRIP?!?! I'd probably stop in to say hi to you and the girls! LOL!

Except for the poison ivy, sounds like things are good. So glad the truck will be taken care of and not by you. I hope you get to pick the rental car and it is something cool and fun!

My friend that just got over poison ivy swears it goes away faster and itches less if you keep swabbing it with rubbing alcohol. She thought it worked better than any of the creams she tried.

I like when you get upgraded in a rental. Once I had reserved a compact car (the cheapest they had) and ended up getting a loaded Explorer. That was before gas went sky high, so it was fun.

OK.. ya'll gotta remember.. i'm a hair over 6ft3.. stickin me in a rental CAR is like the clowns at the circus .. like 50 of em in a tiny lil car..

One time.. we had to bring my friend her Ford Ranger... so Rick went along for the ride..didn't think to much about it till we got there and a guy friend of hers called and left a message on her answering machine..

*I thought I saw you just now, looked like your truck at the gas station, then these two GIANT people got out....*

I want me a rental TRUCK.

Sorry about the poison ivy - that sounds like an itchy scratchy mess! But at least you don't have to pay anything for the truck repair and you get a rental car to boot. I vote for the Porsche. And you'll get your Lexi back tomorrow! Some good, some bad, but a fancy schmancy car could help that to be all better.

:biggrin2:.

Now I can say I have a giant friend! LOL!

I have Lexi home..... it was a really bad week. Pokie doesn't like camp apparently - nor do a lot of horses..... it wasn't unusual to have some problems. However, we have some really close people in the main arena of things there so you know we are going to hear about it all.

First, I was told she is a dangerous horse and to send her away..... I almost fainted. She's so gentle and kind mostly....

Then I heard from someone who doesn't know us and was more...... well less opinionated about things... that she was just a bit head strong and if Lexi makes her work and does what he told her... she should be great for fair and stuff. I heard the same from the other counselors who worked with them but Pokie was sore and really grumpy. We got her home, gave her a bath, put her in a stall and gave her food. We had to pick stalls, and I had just stripped and loaded and I am all dead from it LOL !

We'll start working Pokie harder each day next week. She's got to get through this thing she's doing with Lexi and I Think they'll be ok - but I don't know what will happen at camp next year if they go. Pokie really hated it LOL! Lexi wasn't real fond of it either LOL!

Well, sometimes people over-react or make things out worse than they are. Some people like certain types of horses and a cow-horse (bred from livestock working horses) aren't the slimlined, pristine show horses that big time AQHA people show... I don't care. LOL! We prefer cow-horses. They are sturdier, kinder, and you aren't afraid to make them work or go for a long hard trail ride.

Pokie needs to get used to working.... she's been babied a lot by me and Lexi. We love her and we can still do that but we have let her get by with a lot of little stuff that has built up. Like she rubs on me with her head when Lexi is getting on her.... well now she's walking forward and that's a no-no.

My niece's horse who's been to camp 11 times with her and my other niece.... tried to kill a counselor... LOL! she was backing up trying to kick him! They did a whole theme song about it for their camp song! It was SO funny!

She also tried to throw my niece in the creek. She bucked so hard my niece's jeans split! One boy's horse was still bucking and kicking and throwing a fit today. One had to go home after kicking and breaking/ripping half his shoe off..... it wasn't pretty!

Talking to my niece who rides for Purdue, she agreed with what I brought homefrom thelead counselor guy and will work with them when she returns from training camp in a week (Para-Olympics niece)...It'll be fine. Pokie is fine for where Lexi is right now... Later, we might want to get her a betterquality show horse, but ya know... I really prefer just doing the whole small time stuff!

Plus we're going to work Dakota. He's so sweet! and his crescent on his forehead is even bigger now! YAY! I love it.

I'm rambling...... sorry.... it's a symptom of exhaustion, and being on prednisone. I can't even begin to go into the Poison Ivy thing.... my son - Ialmost took him to the ER last night cause he couldn't stand to move his arm it hurt so bad INSIDE as well as outside. He's better now.

Yep. Horses are always a bit of a worry - you don't know what any of them might do in a strange situation, but it all worked out.

We ended up giving Pokie the day off. They had to clean the trailer and stuff and I was busy with some other things.

Tomorrow - we work her again.

My poison *ivy?* is worse. I think it might be poison oak or sumac. :tears2:
