Mimzy has been getting extremely aggressive towards me and Fallow lately.

I'm supposing it's hormones...but maybe not.

Mimzy is an 8 month old female french lop, unspayed.

She is digging in the litter box and carpet like crazy and her favorite spots are hiding in the boxes and anything cave-like. If Fallow gets more attention than her when I let them out to play together she will grunt at him and charge him and she's bitten him once, but I only see this aggression towards him when I'm petting him or giving him treats.

When I was putting her in her cage this morning after a short bonding time with Fallow she growled and backed into a corner and charged me, not wanting to go back into her cage even though I offered treats.

What really got me was this morning she jumped in bed and I was petting her for a moment then stopped to check a text...she started digging on my arm i clucked my tongue for her to stop and she bit me...HARD. I am bleeding and theres already a huge welt between the two lines where she bit me.

So is this just her being mean and should I try something different with her or is she just hormonally crazy...

I would say hormones is probably the very real culprit. Maybe take her for a vet check tocheck its nothing else physical, and then look to getting her spayed. If that doesn't sort it then look for the circumstantial factors around her.

Well, she also may be pregnant. My vet said he couldn't do an abortion/spay because of the risks. But I don't know if she is for sure, she got out of her NIC in the night but I don't know how long she was out. This was a few days after Fallow was nuetered. I don't know if he got ahold of her or not.

So, 31 days forward would be 26th December, and she could have kits anywhere from 28-33 days, which would be 23rd to 28th Dec. You might be in for Christmas babies.

You should be able to get her palpated to find out if she is pregnant. A good rabbit savvy vet should be able to do that around now for the next week or so, but not too close to the birth.

Are you prepared for kits?

Uhm...I can be.

Just need to get her pinned off from Fallow and get a box, right?

Yes, is she separate from him all the time? Does she live by herself?

You'll also need to look into emergency numbers and vets and find more out about french lops kindling. Might be worth posting and asking in the Rabbitry.

She is caged away from him except for about an hour a day when they get bonding time but its supervised

My vet gave me his cell number in case I need him. I know her mom was a horrible mom and the breeder friend of mine had trouble with her other two french lops not takin care of the litters. Ill post in rabbitry section thanks...heres to hoping shes not.

You need to keep them completely separate until 6-8 weeks after his neuter. Potentially you need to count on 33 days from when they were last together and then you could have kits anytime from the 23rd Dec to that date, and you obviously need to be prepared for that. It only takes a second for an accident to happen, so even if you left them for a minute to do something, there is still a risk.
