[align=center]THE HEATINGS BROKEN

LOL!!

[align=left]It snowed last night but it was only a couple of CM deep, we wer ehoping for a Snowday off school but nope so we went to school like normal but it was freeezing!! My feet were literally blocks of ice all day I wanted to cry they were so painful.

Then at break my 2 friends came up to me and said 'We're going home in 15 mins!!!'
I was so excited but my other friends didn't believe them but then Hannah my crazy friend asked this random ICT teacher and he said yeah and we went and looked outside and the buses were here YAY!!!!

So the school heating is broken and I hope they don't fix it before tomorrow and this teacher said we might not be coming in tomorrow becuase it's supposed to be really freezing tonight and tomorrow!!
:biggrin2::biggrin2:
YAY :biggrin2:

Lol!

It never ceases to amaze me how a teensy bit of snow brings this country to a standstill!

Me and my friends took our own 'snowday' once. The heating was broken in our school and it was absolutely freezing, but they wouldn't send us home. So after break we left and went to my friends house, and sat drinking tea and watching Backstreet Boys videos all afternoon. Yeah, I'm hardcore! :p

Man, I wish we had snow days here but if that was the case the schools would be closed from oct to april, lol. Even in blizzards the schools still open. Sometimes during the big storms the buses dont' run tho, so hardly any kids show up.

I remember when I was younger the heating at my school broke in the middle of winter. It was freezing but we weren't let out of school. We just wore our coats,hats and mitts all day.

A little snow and cold doesn't stop canadians :p

:yeahthat: I think the only time we got let of school early was 'casue at your High School the roof caved in at the Library. But ya no snow days for us Canadians

I guess it's because you get loads of snow there so your country has had to learn to function with it, if you didn't it would put the country on stand-still for way too long, whereas in Ireland and the Uk we get very little snow, some years here in Ireland we get none, so any little bit disrupts everything.

I know, it's ridiculous!:D Half an inch and the whole country closes down. They were raving about 'arctic conditions' on the news this morning. I don't think the arctic is quite this mild - it's only a tiny bit of snow!:p

What I hate though is when (like today) it snows then freezes. It is so slippy! It took me ages to walk to school as I was nearly falling over everywhere. It really was a bad day to wear a skirt -If I had fallen and split that in the middle of a street full of people that could have been pretty embarrassing!:p

Fingers crossed it is a bit warmer tomorrow!

We don't get snow days here - they are jerks about going to school. Every school district would shut down except mine when I was in school.

In 8 years we got one day off for weather. And that was because the roof blew off.

Were British! We only have the weather and queueing to complain about! When its snowing its ever MORE exciting!

We never got snow days - ever. I don't remember a single one. I think our school is really stingy. The only day I've ever been sent home from school due to weather was in the summer one day, and that was only because 16 people fainted from heat exhaustion.

Fran :) :hearts :brownbunny

Wow. Hope you enjoy your break. That would never happen here. Cooling, yes, heating, no. I went for a walk in my shorts early this morning and it wasn't even cold, lol.

When I was in grade school, there were loads of snow days. But right after I got into high school, there was a new superintendent. He was from Denver, Colorado. Didn't get a single snow day in high school, even when the weather was really bad and hardly anyone showed up. (My high school was on top of a hill, too, sometimes parents would drop the kids off at the bottom and they'd have to walk up because the cars wouldn't make it!)

Then one of my best friends moved to South Carolina, and they got almost a half inch of snow, and the entire town was shut down from it. She was out driving with her family and not one place was open!

My hometeacher came today and said they cranked up the heat in the school so much students were walking around in their gym tank's. She said no one understood why it was so hot.. not even the administration, the thermostats were all normal but it was supprisingly super hot. She said that they checked the heat thermometer and it was 30 degrees celcius.

I would love if it snowed here tonight, it's bitter cold out, I went cycling with my friend awhile ago and it hurt so much to take my hands off the handlebars because they were frozen. So we stopped into an elderly neighbours house for tea and homemade bread to warm us up :D...if the roads stay icy my bus won't come :biggrin2:

Lucky!!

I want it to be really icy tonight so our buses don't come... look at the weather report for tonight:

This Evening and Tonight:
A cold and clear evening with a widespread frost again. Turning cloudier after midnight with some outbreaks of mainly light rain, sleet and snow arriving by morning. Minimum temperature -6 deg C (21 deg F).

YAY!
