Hi everybody. Took my girl in for a routine visit the other day, and the blood sample revealed a high lymphocyte count. The vet wants me to come back to have another blood draw, to test for EC and to get radiographs.
Has anyone had a bunny with high lymphocyte count?

She has no clinical signs of being sick at all. She had a short bout of GI stasis once in the 2 years I have had her.

Lymphocytes are white blood cells, so an increase is typically a sign that the immune system is defending against something.

My rabbit had asymptomatic (dormant; no outward symptoms) syphilis that turned symptomatic when stressed by something else, so we did a blood test and he did have high lymphocytes, which helped inform that he had syphilis.

Thanks so much for your response. I really appreciate the information. My vet seems really good, so I am going to trust her and let her do what she thinks is necessary to keep Phrosty healthy.

Had another blood panel done, and the lymphocytes are still elevated. She continues to show no clinical signs of being sick. The pathologist is recommending serial blood counts, and the vet is consulting with an internist. Anyone have a similar experience?

I have not, but I hope she gets better!:(
