Hi there,

What a wonderful website and soooo informative. We have been waiting for a baby bunny for over a month, with our minds set on getting a dutch bunny, but we fell in love with a little 10 week old buck, we call LEX. He definitely looks like he has some Netherland Dwarf, but his ears are a little longer. One stands up and the other flops!(maybe part flop?). He is perfect in our eyes and sweet as can be. Working on litter training.

How do I post a pic so I can get some opinions on his breed?

Heya! Glad you found us! :) Welcome!

To post pictures I go to the website Photobucket.com (create an account if you need to), then upload the pictures you want to post on there. There will be some options for each picture after you've uploaded them. The link you want to copy and paste into a post *here* is going to be the IMG link.

Hope this helps!

This is how I post pics. Really easy to do. Plus Photobucket is free as well.

Look forward to seeing your new bunny Lex!

Ok, I think I figured out tinypic.com. Pretty easy to use.
Here are pics of our new family member, Lex.
Any ideas on his mix of breed would be greatly appreciated! One ear stays up and the other flops down. Not sure if its because he is only 10 weeks and the cartilage in one ear is still a little weak.
Thanks

Mini lop, don't see netherland dwarf at all, his ears are way to long to be a netherland mix, his ear probably haven't settled yet since he is only 10 weeks old, gosh he is cute though

A broken black Mini Lop who's ears have not settled. Some take longer than others, and with mixes their ears could stay that way.

Love the butterfly on Lex's nose!

K:)

How big is he ? His face looks a bit long and thin but he does look pretty similar to a mini lop

he is really cute though :)

Oh wow a mini lop. The one breed we didn't read up on a lot because we heard their tempermant wasn't as good as others, so we thought we didn't want one. Must be a generalization because Lex is super sweet. Loves to be held and really loves being on his back and getting his belly scratched.

Took him to the vet because we suspected he had ear mites (that's what we get buying from Petland) and indeed he had ear mites. They weighed him at 1.3 lbs.

We waited and waited until the store got in baby dutches and what happens... Lex hopped right over to us and we fell in love! The store told us they thought he was hotot species with netherland dwarf and perhaps some lionhead. I knew they were way off, just wasn't sure what breed. I do have to say that his ears seem pointier than a mini lops.

Very cute bunny, lops in general are good natured bunny's, I have a mini lop Pudge who is quite the snuggler.

Definitely mini lop. He looks just like our Sherbotsky, except for being black instead of grey! I agree that his ears look a bit pointy but otherwise very similar. Our lop isn't as fond of snuggling as she used to be but we're working on that. She's about five months old now and we've definitely reached adolescence lol. :dude: Have fun with your new bun!

I don't know where you have heard of mini lops having a bad tempermant? I have 5 mini lops and they are by far the best breed of rabbit, they are so friendly! In the past i have had netherland dwarfs and and lionheads, and the mini lop is definetly the best, they are so friendly! Yours is really cute, i have recently just got a broken black mini lop and like your only one of her ears have lopped yet, it's so cute! :)

You guys haven been wonderful, thank you soo much! I do hope one of his ears stays upright, that's what's so darn cute and unique about them. I hope he continues to love being held, because my daughter can't get enough of him right now.
Now on to reading all the great informative bulletins you all have on feeding, behaviours, litter training, etc.
Thanks again!:thanks::thanks::thanks:
