Hi all, Just wanted to introduce myself...my name is Erin and my family and I have two Buns. One is a New zealand mix girl who is red...we honestly aren't sure of her age. She was at a petstore where a friend worked, someone had brought her in and "donated" her aka, ditched her. Friend begged me to take her but not in the market for a new critter I refused. Well, later in the day I was back at the store and a snake customer who I recognized came in to buy a bun to feed his boa. She was the only rabbit there so when he pointed and said "that will work" I said, NO sorry, she's mine, lol. So my husband calls her "Stella bun bun snake food". Our other bun is new and we are just loving him up. HE is a 6 week old Holland lop and lion head mix, he is still yet to be named. I have a few questions about neutering him...I will post those in the general chat tho. Thanks and I look forward to meeting everyone and their bunnies.

Erin, Stella, and New baby.

[align=center]Welcome to RO! I am so glad you saved Stella =) I would have done the same thing.

I hate when people feed rabbits to snakes. Some teacher at my school wants to take people's pet rabbits on Craigslist and give them to his snake once it gets bigger, like act like he's going to be a good owner. I think that's horrible. He puts on "shows" at school where he feeds mice and rats to his snake. I think it's very cruel... >:-(

Congrats on the new one! Where did you get him? =) Sounds like a cutie! You should upload pics!

Bunnies are so addicting. I have three, just adopted a fourth. XD

I actually got the baby from craigslist....we decided that Stella needed a friend and ran accross this guy. Unfortunately the very day before we were to bring baby home Stella suffered a broken leg, I'm still unsure how it happened and I was there! I just saw she startled and thumped and took off and I can only assume broke it in the process. She is totally fine but on cage rest with a cast for a few weeks so even after mister new baby comes out of quarantine she won't get to play with him much until she's recovered. As for pics, I will attempt to post on here, also, here's a link to a video we made of baby.

[align=center]Awww =) They're both so cute! I always look at the bunnies on Craigslist and I wish I could adopt them all! XD But I already have three and I just adopted another. (Haven't brought her home yet).

The new one is SO FLUFFY!! I looked at the video and he's just SOOO cute oh my goodness. <3

That stinks about the broken leg =( Was it a back one?

My dutch rabbit broke his front left leg... Both bones in the leg, clear in half- the E.R. vet said it wouldn't heal with a cast and said we'd need to amputate it or pin it. But we went with the cast idea at a local vet and he's finally healed and out of his cast and cone after 6 weeks!!

It's hard work taking care of an injured rabbit. But it's totally worth it. In the end when they're all better, it's so relieving and.. it makes me feel proud =)

Thank you, he is VERY fuzzy lol...as for Stella, yes it s a rear limb and it was severely broken, the bone was even protruding thru her skin...ugh it was horrible. She seems to be tolerating the cast fairly well though and I have been letting her have a little quiet couch time. I'll be glad to see her hopping around the house again for sure.

[align=center]Yeah he is! 8D Are you gunna name him something with an S? ;) I have named all my rabbits "S" names. XD haha. I confuse everyone with it.

And oh my goodness =( And I thought it was horrible seeing Sabriel with a limp leg. Bone protruding through the skin sounds worse! Does she have to have a cone? Or get cast changes? Sabriel had to have his cast changed every Monday.

Oh it WAS terrible. I was home and my husband had run to the store so all I could do was hold her...hold the leg in place, and wait for him to get back. She will get her cast rechecked on Wednesday and changed if needed. We've been able to go without the e collar so far tho initially we thought we were going to need it becuase the little turkey kept pulling the padding out from her cast. I guess she got over it and hasn't worried with it anymore so we didn't put the collar on. I'm praying that this heals ok.

[align=center]Aww =( That sounds so scary! For us, we had to call around for a vet for a while since it was a SATURDAY of all days.

Cost us 550$ at the emergency vet =( My mom almost- ALMOST- insinuated we'd need to put him down because she didn't want to pay if he needed an amputation or anything. But I wasn't gunna let that happen. He's my baby and I'd do anything for him. Good thing it healed fine without that though.. =)

I hope Stella's heals alright <3 Did they have to put her under anesthesia at first to cast it? They had to with Sabriel- he didn't do well under it AT ALL. Sabriel was an obsessive licker and had to have the cone on at almost all times as well! He didn't know what to do but lick himself obsessively when he got it off! XD

And he got all these sores on his leg from the cast and tape =( But the sores are gone now and it's looking good... crooked, but good!

Welcome to RO. That is wonderful that you were able to save Stella. I hope the leg heals well. If your new baby isn't neutered yet it may be just as well they have to be apart. She may not like him much until he's snipped. He is so cute I think he's going on my bunnykapping list. :)

Let me welcome you to Rabbits Online, my name is Dave and I am a moderator on the forum. So if I can be of any help please let me know. This is a terrific website for rabbits and their slaves, not only is it very active but also friendly. I am so glad you’re here and I know you will enjoy it.

Your bunny's are beautiful. Your new bun looks like a English Angora. Lionheads are not that fluffy and have uppy ears.

Many bunny's recommend their slaves to this site so we may learn of others methods to keeping our furry masters happy.

If you everhave a sick bunny, please post in The Infirmary and include your rabbit's age, breed and health history as well diet and output details leading up to the problem.

I have listed some links I thought you might find interesting:

*For reference the Library section

*To brag or tell everyone about the antics of your bunny or just to talk about your day here is where to start a Bunny Blog, you can also look back at it later and remember when you had a life before your bunny.

*Now all the bunny’s like talk to each other when we mere slaves aren’t around in the Bunny Chat is the spot to be.

*Rabbits Online also has regional forums , this a good way to find a vet in your area that has experience with rabbits and to find out from other nearby of good sources of rabbit supplies.

The Let Your Hare Down section is for anything non-bunny related.

Here is a link tothat will help you and your bunny to connect, How To Bond With Your Bunny.

Now every forum has rules and ours can be found with this link Rabbits Online Forum Rules. This gives guidelines on what is acceptable, what is not and how we hope everyone will treat each other.

Everyone on this forum loves to see pictures of each other’s bunnies. So if you would like to post a picture this link will help you do that, Upload Photo's to Photo Gallery. Then in the post, you click on the "G" in the tool bar to insert your photo. Many people also use Photobucket. You just copy the img file and paste it into the post.

I am glad you have joined rabbits online and I look forward to seeing you around.
