Hi, i thought joining a forum for rabbits would be a great idea for me. Ive shown rabbits in 4-H for 4 or 5 years (off and on) and i always sold my rabbits after the shows but ive recently decided that i would like to try my hand at breeding rabbits..after begging my mom (i am a high school student but i DO pay for all of this myself. Im very mature for my age)i set off to get my breeding stock.
I bought a young buck now fondly named Jax. He is a beautiful boy who has just reached sexual maturity though I think he still has a bit of maturing to do before I breed him. I bought a female i sold last year after the show from the breeder i sold her too (and she is helping me with everything that has to do with my bunnies. Im not just jumping in here blind... plus ive done a bunch of research) and the breeder kindly bred her to their BIS buck.
So its been 2 months since i got Jax and a month since i got Rosie (my female) back and three days ago, Rosie popped out 9 beautiful baby kits! They are well fed and beautifully plump. They are growing their little white peach fuzz and Rosie is very tolerent of me touching them when i have too. I think i want to keep a little female kit from this litter since she isnt related to Jax and i will probably breed her to a different BIS show buck i know and i plan to have a beautiful litter for sell with 2 BIS in their bloodlines.
But (i have gone way off topic lol) i thought joing a forum would help me improve my knowledge of my bunnies even more and i am already im love with doing such a great hobby! Ill try to get pictures of my buns soon.
