Hello everyone!

I tripped over this great forum while surfing , looking for cool bunnyillustrations.

I have two bunnies; Slaty is a silvery-grey Netherland Dwarf/"Meat Rabbit" mix. He isa neutered 2 yearold male, who loves to sniff noses with me. He is a very expressive sniffer!

My other house bun is Mr. Anonymous Bunny. He showed up in my life about3 weeks ago. He is a Mini-Rex, broken colouration, with twisty little whiskers. Sadly, I cannotfind the right name for him.He is a sweet, but awkward looking little guy (approx 7-8 mos), with brown patches over each eye, and brown stripes running down his mostly whiteback.

He likes to jump on my cats, eat strawberries and carrots and dandelions, and do acrobatic leaps and twists on my bed. If anyone hasa good name for him, I'd love to hearit. I like names that start with "S".

I've already taken him to the vet once;I'm going to have to get him neutered in the next week, but it is getting embarassing notknowing his name yet. I told the receptionist that he is in the Witness Protection Program (I don't think she bought it ;))

Thanks for any and all name suggestions!

Welcome!

Personally i like human names. Depends what he's like though. My rabbit is called William, because to me his quite distinguished but still cute and i think thats what vibe i get from that name.

So if he's a bit of an oddball think of a slightly different boy name, imagine him as a human - what would that human be called?

Yay! Another Canadian! :Canada small:

Welcome to the forum NorthernAutumn! :welcome1

Silverstone... Don't know why, but that is the first thing that popped in my head when I thought of aname. :bunny24
Just spend some time with him and observe his behavior and some suitable name should fit his nature. :)

Welcome NorthernAutumn!

Our mini rex bun, Blueberry, has twisty whiskers too. Aren't they just cute? Cracks me up every time I look at her. (Maybe it's in the color genes? Blueberry is blue, which shares some genes with slate.) Anyway, your Anonymous bun sounds like a hoot to have around! What an active little guy. I look forward to hearing what you name him.

Hello and welcome to the forum. I also have mini-rex and am partial to "S" names. My girls are Sparky and Scooter. I also had a mini-rex (at the bridge) named Spot.

Could you post a picture of Mr. Anonymous? I'm sure that will inspire us to help name him. One name that came to mind is Skipper.

Thank you everyone for writing to me! This is too much fun; I'm giddy!

pink salamander, thanks for the advice; I was leaning towards stanley for a while, but that would likely get shortened down in a Jiffy to "Stanny", which doesn't sound as cool. He looks like a Toby, but my family's tradition is "S" names only... :happybunny:

PetBunny, my bf watched my wee bunny for a half hour or so, after which he proclaimed the bunny's name to beSirSprinkles, in reference the the copious number of bunny poops emitted while the Anonymous Bun was dancing around... Thanks for your welcome :D

wabbitmom12, I would love to know what makes their whiskers so twisty! The Anonymous Bun doesn't freak out at all if i accidentally bush his whiskers, whereas Slaty will snort and lumber away. Do you know the reason?

I was also wondering if someone could give me some advice on bonding two bucks. I've got my big guy (who was here first) and the Anonymous Bun

Here's Slate, btw http://bp0.blogger.com/_n2j6RrYYipo/SDm_a_0elYI/AAAAAAAAAAY/7MNPScF4bH8/s1600-h/slaty+2.JPG

I really want to know if you guys think this would work out. The Anonymous Bun showed up spontaneously (not really my idea;)) and my BF and I were hoping that it would be possible to bond these guys.

Is there a good thread I should look for?

That's how I named my Netherland Dwarf Pebbles. She would leave numerous pebbles (poop) on the floor. So she got the name Pebbles. :D

And that is the name of the cartoon called the Flintstones. Their little girlhad beautiful eyes which our bunny has beautiful eyes too.

Maybe you should wait until Sir Anonymous is neutered before you introduce the two. At the moment, keep them apart, even out of sight and when you do bond, do it slowly.

Thanks for all the thoughts, guys!

PetBunny, maybe I've messed up. Thier cages have been beside eachother for the last 2-3 weeks. No growling is going on; just nose sniffing thru the bars... I really don't want to make any mistakes here though!

Gotta make dinner now.. See ya in a bit!

Every bonding is different. Just leave them as you had them for the last 3 weeks. They are getting along find with their cages besides each other. I would even leave the two like that after the neuter, until Sir Anonymous is completely healed, before attempting to bond the two. Because one bunny can sense the other is stressed and might try to take advantage of it.

Your boys are AWESOME!

I love the mini-rex. I have one too! His name is....... BO! lol. I love mini-rex curly whiskers!!

Yours has some interesting markings like...... his back looks like a map.... that's what first came to me when I saw him.

A famous map maker name would be GERARD (Mercater) - he was a famous dutch cartographer. I don't think I have ever known a bunny with that name.

Welcome NorthernAutumn! Glad you stumbled across RO - it is so much fun here..

Love the back story and here are my suggestions:

After seeing his pic Samuel jumped to mind (tough Biblical name) but then your one bun is Slaty and Granite came to mind (not a S name I know).. Mr. Anonymous looks similiar to my Baxter! big ears, little feet and twisty whiskers.. So cute! What a great combo the mini-rex and the Nethie..

Bo B Bunny, it's so cool that you mentioned that! I am a physical geography and enivronmental science student at my university; your idea of a famous geographer brought to mind one of the Greek fathers ofgeography: STRABO . Strabo was the first guy to mention both cultural and physical geographical phenomena; He wrote the Geographia (all 17 volumes of it)...

Now That's Exciting!!!

juliew19673, do you mean that this is a good combo of bunnies (they're both boys :?? I'm worried that in a fight, the mini rex doesn't stand a chance against the nethie/meat rabbit mix (He's is one big punk bunny!) You sound like you have a different experience, though...?

Ed: Forgot to tell PetBunny what I was thinking; as a good Canuck, how about Mini-Rex Murphy ?(CBC)

LOL!!! I don't have any idea what makes them twisty, but I'm sure glad it happens. It's just too cute!

And Slaty sez, don't try to change me...I'm just a GUY! :muscleman:

WELCOME! Yes boys can bond! I have a trio of two boys and a girl. The lop boy Dallas gets along better with the boy than with the girl. Also my two tiny nethies give the bigger bunnies a run for their money.
