Hi There!
I joined this forum because I am making advanced plans on getting a pair of rabbits. I used to work at HRS, and have kept rabbits in the past (I moved to an apartment, and wasnt able to bring them, it was heartbreaking, but they went to a good family) But I am in the process of buying my first house, so I can get them again!
Before I just had rescued/mutt rabbits, but this time I am more interested in possibly acquiring pure breds. (I want a pair for companionship, but they would be fixed, as I have no interest in breeding) I want to get into hand spinning, and would love to harvest my own fiber. I of course have experience with grooming rabbits, and I hear that if you start grooming angoras young enough, that it becomes a bonding thing, and harvesting the fiber during the shedding season doesnt phase them at all (it doesnt phase most rabbits during that season, but some get nippy)
I'd love some more information about the angora breed (temperment specifically) and advice from anyone who keeps house angora rabbits for fiber arts. Also if anyone knows of any responsible, legit (Not BYBs) Breeders to get angoras from, or rescue organizations that offer younger pure breds for adoption.
Thanks in advance!
