Hi - I have found this forum to be a great source of information! We are new bunny owners (a little over a month) and just found out that my little boy is probably allergic to them. He has been coughing pretty much since we got them and I didn't even connect the two. Now he's on aninhaler, cough meds and allergy meds. We may need to find a new home for our bunnies. Two sweetgirls, both white with gray ears and tails. We are in Denver, near Charlotte, NC.

Wondering if anyone else has had an allergic reaction and if the only option is to find a new home? We have grown quite attached and they are indoor bunnies.

My allergy is to the hay they love to eat. Some have suggested moving them off of timothy. A HEPA air filter should do wonders to clean up the air. Also, having an allergy test will tell you exactly what the allergies are and you can treat from there.

I am sorry your son is having allergies to the bunny's. I hope you can figure out a way to keep them.

Many bunny's recommend their slaves to this site so we may learn of others methods to keeping our furry masters happy.

If you everhave a sick bunny, please post in The Infirmary and include your rabbit's age, breed and health history as well diet and output details leading up to the problem.
