i have a bunny that got spayed this weekend heis 5 months...i am getting a new bunny this weekd she is 3 months i wasthinking of neutering her next week and keeping them apart for 1-2weeks. recently someone told me this is bad. getting bunny neutered at3 months and that boy bun needs 6 weeks apart afterspaying.help

DO NOT spay a 3 month old female. That is WAYtoo young. They need to be much closer to 6 months. The buck can stillhave sperm and hormones left over even after his neuter and could stillimpregnate the doe. You're looking at keeping them apart for a whilestill.

Females can be spayed as soon as they sexuallymature, usually around 4 months of age, but many vets prefer to waituntil they are 6 months old, as surgery is riskier on a younger bunnie.
Males can be neutered as soon as the testicles descend, usually around3-1/2 months of age, but many vets prefer to wait until they are 5months old.

Our vet recommended keeping bunnies apart for 4-6 weeks after neutering.

I agree with JimDsome breeds may mature earlier , whatyou havent said is what breedis this new one , If its theAngora better to wait .

it is the angora. i called the vet that i wentto before for my other rabbit and they sd 6 months so i won't get newbunny for a month cause i don't want to keep her in cage while otherruns around free in room...think its unfair and cruel. so in a month hewill get angora bunny and be firends in theyre very own room and thenwhen she is 6 she will get spayed.
