Hi to everyone in rabbit land. In early June my husband found a domestic bunny hopping around outdoors. After confirming that she did not belong to anyone in the immediate area, he brought her home. She is adjusting perfectly to our "zoo" and we love her dearly. I'm just curious to know what breed she is and I am hoping someone can help me. She is about 5 lbs and her coat is very silky. She is very active and I have figured out that she is indeed female. Take a look at the pictures and let me know what you think.

Thanks so much! Holly

its really hard to tell with the little pictures. But if her hair is really soft she could either be a mini rex(has more of a dense coat) or a satin( rollback coat with a lot of sheen)

rex rabbits have whiskers nancy. and i'm 100% on that. she may be at least part rex, has the close to the same build as my rex but the fur is different

my rex had sort of curly looking whiskers not like other breeds at all. I loved is funny little whiskers lol

from the first pic i thought rex because of the build so I agree that there might be rex in there but it is definately not rex fur.

She looks like a mini rex mix. Because of her body type she definitely looks like a mini rex. There are plenty of brood/pet quality mini rexes that have ears that are that big. I had a rescue bunny once that looked just like that, except the fur. If her fur is as soft as you say it is, it could be that the mini rex fur genes mixed with whatever she is crossed with's fur genes. I have seen this happen before. Especially since her fur looks very dense and a bit shorter than normal coarse fur, if you really study it.

She is a beautiful bunny! I wish you the best of luck with her. :)

Thank you to everyone who responded. I think I have a little better idea about what breed she is. It really isn't that important for us to know...we won't be breeding her etc. and we just adore her no matter what she is.
