So I took my rabbit to the vet and I was told he had the snuffles. I know the signs are nasal discharge and sneezing and eye discharge, but when I took him 2 weeks before he had no eye discharge. Now 2 weeks later on baytril he has gotten eye discharge and still is sneezing alittle. I'm going some time this weekend to have a re visit but I can't afford any more tests on him. I'm only 14 and have to pay for it myself. If I have to I will sell my iPad to do more tests. Do you think I should ask for another dose? Are his eyes just draining? The fluid is clear but hardens under and around his eyes. Is this normal. Please help

Snuffles is generally treated with antibiotics for 14-30 days. Rabbits need beneficial bacteria in their intestine to aid in digestion and they often need to be supplemented with these bacteria during and after antibiotic treatment; therefore, these drugs should only be used under strict veterinary guidance. In severe cases, supportive treatment consisting of fluids and supplemental nutrition may need to be given as well.

I would just call the vet and update him with what is going on. He may prescribe more medicine without requiring another vet visit. It never hurts to call and ask for advice. Just explain the background and when you were last in and what has occurred since.
