So basically it’s a long story but we have this female orphaned cottontail and I am concerned for a few reasons. I have taken care of orphaned cottontails in the past. However, this one seems to barely stay awake and barely eats/drinks milk. It also seems to have something on its nose and I can’t tell if it’s dried milk or crust. It has its eyes open, is around a week+ old, and weighs 113 grams but still seems tiny. I’m not sure if it has been through a lot and not been able to sleep or what. Should I give it a day and let her sleep after trying to feed her as much as I can. She’s only really drank a few drops.
