Ok, I just got a dwarf rabbit who's partner
Is still with the current owners cause she just had
A litter of 8 and killed all but three. Doe is Belgian.
Don't know the age as she was a rescue. Don't think
She is real young. This was her first batch and after
She had the kits she was moved twice. ( meaning in
A different cage right away to a garage and then to a
Basement) was wondering if the moves stressed momma
Out and this why she killed them or what? Could also
Be cause of this being her first batch momma might
Not have knowen what they were or what to do right away.
I know there could be MANY reasons why the doe killed her kits
But was just interested on knowing. Also buck was separated
Right after she had the kits.

Like you said, there could be many reasons it happened. It may have even been an accident, or maybe the kits passed away on their own. There is really no way to know most of the time, and speculation is just that - a guess. :)

Could be several reasons, but I'd say that the combination of being a first time mom and moving her and the kits twice certainly didn't help.

Since I don't have an edit button to add a comment, I'll add here that we had a doe who got stressed out and trampled a couple of her newborns. I knew it was an accident because she was normally a good mom. Is she taking care of the last three?
