Monica my netherland dwarf doe was bred on June 7th. According to every book/website I have looked at she should be due around the 8th of July. I figured this Sunday (which is her 27th day) I would put the nest box in. BUT..... when she was outside playing today (we have nice protected runs for our bunnies) she started making a burrow! When I brought her in and gave her fresh water and hay she started carrying it around. So even though it is only day 24 I gave her the nest box. She has spent all afternoon in the box. She carries mouthful after mouthful of hay into the box, then aranges it over and over again. Isn't this a bit early????? Should I be worried that she is gonna go early? I am certain of the day she was bred, it was the 7th of june and she has not been around a buck before or since......

What do you think?:?

Oh, she is 11 months old, this is her first pregnancy, and she palpated positive.

I'll usually give the doe the nest early if she is showing early nesting behavior. It doesn't necessarily mean that she'll deliver early.

Looks like shes getting ready to have her babies, ive had dwarf make nest two weeks before kindling.

I usually find mine make hills with their shavings about week 3 of their pregnancy and sometimes they add their hay to it too so not to early and I have a few that start to play at nesting a week before but only make a real nest a day or 2 before they have the litter
