hi all

i need to find a liter suitable for rabbits and hamsters

just im finding the shavings are not absorbent enough

you no the pelleted litter do you have to mix it with water 1st to getlike a sawdust effect its just id think it would hurt their feet

why dont you use woody pet or some kind of woodpellets. it wont hurt their feet dont worry about that. no you donthave to wet it the whole point of that litter is for when the animalpees is to turn into sawdust absorbing the moisture. you can put a verylight layer of water on it though like one squirt with a spray bottle.

I have 2 rabbits and neither one of them seem tomind the Woody Pet litter pellets. When I first started usingthem I wondered if they would bother their feet but it does not seemto. It really absorbs the urine and takes away the urinesmell. It saves you money also because you can justtake out the bunny poops and wet spots on a daily basis and add alittle more litter. I then dump and clean thelitter box completely once a week. Hope this info helps yousome. Beckie, Trouble and Trixie

Yep, I am now using Yesterday's News - which isalso in a pellet form. It doesn't seem to bother my guys whenthey are on it.

I think the pellets (wood stove, yesterdaysnews, ect.) are the best for rabbits. As far as hammies go....I usethis with my mice and it works great, I can't even smell them....

It's $15 for a HUGE bag. I have the smaller scented kind for my miceand it was $8 ad half the size...and it has lasted me almost two monthsWITH weekly changings in a 10 gallon tank.

Varna,

Do you have any type of feed/farm store near you? They might sell thewood pellets for horses. Its very cheap. You dont have to spray it oranything. It works great!
