I was wondering if anyone knew what would be wrong. My bunny cant use his back legs he tries to hop around but falls over. I got him to eat he isnt having any trouble breathing. He has a big clump of poo stuck to hia bum. He is at the vets but im so worried I dont want anything to happen to my baby Nomnoms

It sounds like hind leg paralysis :( I'm so sorry to hear about your poor bun!
Someone else's bunny had the same problems, maybe this thread can help?

Rabbits who have hind leg paralysis can still go on to live happy lives! People are constantly inventing new ways to help them remain mobile, you do have to make sure his butt and hind legs are cleaned regularly as he might not be able to reach them!

Here's a video of a couple who made a "wheel-chair" for their bun!

I hope you're okay and the bun is too!

Thanks for the info :). The vet called and she thinks he has flopy bunny syndrome or EC parasite. Next 24 hours are critical but she said hes one of the best ones shes seen with FBS

Poor little guy! I really hope he pulls through and can recover enough to walk again. Be sure to keep us updated on his condition and what the vet's diagnosis and prognosis are - once we know some of the specifics, we may be able to offer some advice :)

Nala, Gaz and I (and all the non-bunn members of our family) will keep Nomnoms in our thoughts!

If you're really worried and have the free time this morning, maybe you could swing by the vet's and drop off a favorite toy or familiar-smelling blanket and a little bit of his favorite treat for him - I bet that would make both of you feel a little better! (You could also bring some of his usual hay and pellets if you haven't already left that stuff with him.)

I'm sorry about your bun being sick. Hopefully he'll be feeling better soon. If your vet has ruled out the paralysis being caused by an injury or spine degeneration, then e. cuniculi is certainly a good possibility. Usually EC is treated with at least a 28 day course of panacur(fenbendazole), as well as metacam/meloxicam(if there are no kidney problems) to help bring down the inflammation that causes the symptoms you are seeing. So you'll want to make sure you are given both of these meds.
